Remembering Leslie
''Remembering Leslie'' (also stylised as ''REMEMBERING Leslie'') is a compilation album released by Universal Music Hong Kong in March 2023, as part of the commemoration of the 20th anniversary of Leslie Cheung's passing. The album featured emerging Cantopop artists interpreting Cheung's classic songs. Commercially, it reached number two on the Hong Kong Record Merchants Association's "Best-selling albums" chart. The release was accompanied by pre-release singles and a live concert titled Reminiscing Leslie Live. Background and production In 2023, the world commemorated the 20th anniversary of Leslie Cheung's passing in 2003. Cheung was known as a "cultural icon" in both music and films during his time. In January, Universal Music Hong Kong, the record label to which Cheung signed in 1999, announced their plan to release two special albums as a tribute. Shinji Tanimura
was a Japanese singer-songwriter. Life and career Tanimura set up the musical group Alice together with Takao Horiuchi in 1971 and released his first extended play musical album in the following year. Alice produced its first album two years later. During this time, Tanimura also composed several musical pieces for other singers, such as Momoe Yamaguchi. In 1981, he held concerts in places such as Hong Kong, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand and Beijing. He also made recordings on the Japanese division of the Casablanca Records label. Error (stylised in all caps) is a Hong Kong Cantopop boy band formed through ViuTV's reality talent show ''Good Night Show - King Maker'' in 2018. Peter Lai () is a Hong Kong lyricist and actor. In the 1970s and 1980s, he co-wrote many lyrics of the first Cantopop songs with Sam Hui. He also wrote songs for Anita Mui, Leslie Cheung and Alan Tam among other Hong Kong pop stars. Yoshiko Takahara (, 1949 – November 6, 2023), better known under the stage name Yoshiko Miura (), was a Japanese lyricist.
