Relli River
The Relli River is a small Himalayan river in the Indian states of Sikkim and West Bengal, flowing near Kalimpong. The source of the Relli lies in between the Alagara - Lava forest range at an elevation of known as Tiffin Dara and ends at 800 ft, confluence with the Teesta . The river runs less than from central Kalimpong, separated by Deolo Hill. The main tributary are Khani River and Pala River and flows into the Teesta River about to the south of central Kalimpong. The northerly slopes along the Relli in Upper Echhay Sherpagaon, in Sikkim, are home to a cluster of some 50 Sherpa households. The village of Relli is located on its banks downriver from Kalimpong, connected to the city by road and trails. Tourism Rinchingpong, a tourist area situated in the northern part of Kalimpong, overlooks the Relli. Relli (also Reli, Relly, or Raily) is a social group of South Indians who reside in the Indian states of Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, West bengal, and Chhattisgarh. They are classified as a Scheduled Caste. Demographics The Relli people are mainly distributed in coastal districts, such as Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam, Nellore, and Chittoor of Andhra Pradesh, Jagdalpur of Chhattisgarh and the Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada of Odisha and Kolkata ( mominpur), titagarh, budge budge, khardaha, bandel of west-Bengal. Conrad Marca-Relli (born Corrado Marcarelli; June 5, 1913 – August 29, 2000) was an American artist who belonged to the early generation of New York School Abstract Expressionist artists whose artistic innovation by the 1950s had been recognized across the Atlantic, including Paris. New York School Abstract Expressionism, represented by Jackson Pollock, Willem de Kooning, Franz Kline, Robert Motherwell, Marca-Relli and others became a leading art movement of the postwar era. Biography Marcarelli (he changed the spelling later in life) was born in Boston. His parents Cosimo and Genovina Marcarelli were Italian immigrants from Benevento. Marcarelli moved to New York City when he was 13 where he grew up with his brother Ettore, and sisters Dora and Ida. In 1930 he studied at the Cooper Union for a year.
