Hair Of The Dog
"Hair of the dog", short for "hair of the dog that bit you", is a colloquial expression in the English language predominantly used to refer to alcohol that is consumed as a hangover remedy (with the aim of lessening the effects of a hangover). Many other languages have their own phrase to describe the same concept. The idea may have some basis in science in the difference between ethanol and methanol metabolism. Etymology The expression originally referred to a method of treatment for a rabid dog bite by placing hair from the dog in the bite wound. Ebenezer Cobham Brewer writes in the ''Brewer's Dictionary of Phrase and Fable, Dictionary of Phrase and Fable'' (1898): "In Scotland it is a popular belief that a few hairs of the dog that bit you applied to the wound will prevent evil consequences. Pick Me Up (Masters Of Horror)
"Pick Me Up" is the eleventh episode of the first season of ''Masters of Horror''. Aired in North America on January 20, 2006, it was based on the short story by David J. Schow. The episode was directed by Larry Cohen, his final project before his death in 2019. Plot On a two-lane highway, two serial killers clash in a turf war: one is named Wheeler (Michael Moriarty) who kills hitchhikers he picks up in his truck, and the other is named Walker (Warren Kole) who is a hitchhiker who murders whoever gives him a ride. Stacia (Fairuza Balk), a recently divorced woman, falls in between the battle of wits. After a transport bus breaks down, Wheeler and Walker kill the driver and passengers — save for Stacia, who left previously. Fascinated, Wheeler and Walker examine each other's victims. ''Pick Me Up'' is the second studio album by Canadian country music artist Brett Kissel. It was released on September 11, 2015, via Warner Music Canada. The album includes the number one single " Airwaves". Upon release, ''Pick Me Up'' debuted at number seven on the Canadian Albums Chart.
