''Journey to the Christmas Star'' ( no, Reisen til julestjernen) is a Norwegian fairy-tale adventure film from 2012 directed by Nils Gaup. The film is based on Sverre Brandt's 1924 play ''Reisen til Julestjernen'' and is otherwise considered a remake of the 1976 film with the same name. The film stars Vilde Marie Zeiner, Agnes Kittelsen, and Anders Baasmo Christiansen. The film was a box-office success, and it was seen by 443,680 people, which made it the fifth-most-viewed film in Norwegian cinemas in 2012 (after '' The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey'' and ahead of '' The Dark Knight Rises''). Nils Gaup
Nils Gaup (born 12 April 1955) is a Sámi film director from Norway. Career Gaup was born in Kautokeino, Finnmark County in Northern Norway. He first intended to become an athlete but from 1974 to 1978 he went to drama school and studied at the Beaivváš Sámi Theatre in Kautokeino. He also founded the first Sami language theatre ensemble. After acting in several movies, he rose to international prominence in 1987 with his film ''Ofelaš'' (international English title '' Pathfinder''). It was the first full-length movie with all of the dialogue in Northern Sámi. This movie earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Foreign language film and the Grand Prize award at the 1990 Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival. Jarl Einar Goli (born 23 April 1957) is working as a painter today. He has been a Norwegian actor and television personality in former times. He enrolled at the Norwegian National Academy of Theatre in 1978, and started a career in acting.
