OStv Johann Friedrich Reinhold Jörke (29 July 1893 – 8 November 1944) was a German World War I flying ace credited with 14 confirmed aerial victories. Biography He was posted to the Royal Prussian Jagdstaffel 12 on 27 February 1917, and scored his first victory with them on 24 March 1917 by downing British ace Cyril Lowe Cyril Nelson "Kid" Lowe, (7 October 1891 – 6 February 1983) was an English rugby union footballer who held England's international try scoring record for over sixty years, a First World War flying ace credited with nine victories, and suppose .... Jörke had run up nine victories by 18 September 1917. He then switched to the Royal Prussian Jagdstaffel 13, and scored a single win, his tenth, with them, on 21 February 1918. In June 1918, he was posted to the Royal Prussian Jagdstaffel 39 as it returned from Italy. He lasted out the war with them, scoring four more victories in August and September 1918. The Province of Brandenburg () was a province of Prussia from 1815 to 1947. Arras ( , ; ; historical ) is the prefecture of the Pas-de-Calais department, which forms part of the region of Hauts-de-France; before the reorganization of 2014 it was in Nord-Pas-de-Calais. The historic centre of the Artois region, with a Baroque town square, Arras is in northern France at the confluence of the rivers Scarpe and Crinchon. The Arras plain is on a large chalk plateau bordered on the north by the Marqueffles fault, on the southwest by the Artois and Ternois hills, and on the south by the slopes of Beaufort-Blavincourt. Feuchy
Feuchy () is a commune in the Pas-de-Calais department in the Hauts-de-France region of France. It is a small village, with a little more than 1000 inhabitants, and had only about 500 inhabitants in 1914. It is situated two kilometers east of Arras. During World War I, in 1914, it was occupied by German troops. British troops took over the Arras sector in March 1916. On April 9, 1917, the British operation "big push" led to advancement of several miles to the east in a battle with one with the most casualties per day, and Feuchy was liberated. The German offensives placed Feuchy under their control in 1918 until the Canadians cleared the area in August 1918. The population of Feuchy was evacuated and the village was completely destroyed. Geography A farming and light industrial village situated east of Arras, at the junction of the D37 and D258 roads, in the valley of the Scarpe river.
