Reinhard Fabisch
Reinhard Fabisch (19 August 1950 – 12 July 2008) was a German football manager and player. He coached teams in Qatar, Malta, Tunisia, Nepal, Oman, United Arab Emirates, and Zimbabwe and the national teams of Zimbabwe, Kenya, and Benin. Playing career As a player Fabisch was signed to Borussia Dortmund between 1969 and 1971 although he did not play for the senior team. Coaching career Fabisch commenced coaching in as an assistant with Tennis Borussia Berlin and SG Union Solingen. Fabisch had three stints as coach of the Kenya national team. In 1987, he managed Harambee Stars to the runners up position against Egypt at the Fourth All-Africa Games, in 1997 he took charge during the qualification tournament for the 1998 World Cup. He was signed to replace Christian Chukwu in 2001, and during the CECAFA Cup he led Kenya to the finals, eventually losing to Ethiopia. He was dismissed in June 2002. Jonah Reinhard Fabisch (born 13 August 2001) is a professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for 3. Liga club Erzgebirge Aue. Born in Kenya, he plays for the Zimbabwe national team. Club career Fabisch joined youth academy of Hamburger SV in 2012. He made his debut for club's reserve team on 6 September 2020 in a 1–1 draw against Lüneburger SK Hansa. In June 2023, Fabisch joined 1. FC Magdeburg. On 26 June 2024, Erzgebirge Aue announced the signing of Fabisch on a two-year contract until June 2026. 2001 CECAFA Cup
The 2001 CECAFA Cup was the 25th edition of the football tournament that involves teams from East and Central Africa. The matches were played in Rwanda, who had last hosted the competition two years before, in 1999. All the matches at the tournament were played from 8 December 2001, when Rwanda beat Somalia, until the 22 December 2001, when both the final and third place play-off were hosted. Prior to the tournament, Sudan withdrew their participation, and as such were suspended from all CECAFA tournaments in the future on an indefinite basis. However, the suspension was lifted in time for the 2002 CECAFA Cup. Eleven teams entered the tournament, two more than had competed at the previous edition. Christian Chukwu Okoro (4 January 1951 – 12 April 2025) was a Nigerian football player and coach. A defender in his playing days, he captained the Nigeria national team to its first win in the Africa Cup of Nations. Early life Chukwu was born on 4 January 1951. He was discouraged by his parents while playing football at a young age. He was also given plantains to hawk just to stop him from playing football.
