Knud Reimers
Knud Reimers (May 20, 1906 – 1987) was one of the most important Scandinavian yacht designers of the 20th century. Biography Knud Hjelmberg Reimers was born in Århus, Denmark and educated as a shipwright in Germany at Friedrich Krupp Germaniawerft in the twenties, a yard building large sailing and motoryachts at the time. He worked as apprentice at Abeking & Rasmussen in (Bremen-)Lemwerder under the supervision of . His first employment was in Stockholm at the design studio of the famous naval architect Gustaf Estlander. When Estlander suddenly died at the age of 54 in 1930, the 25-year-old Reimers bought his design practice. He promptly sold six 22m² Skerry cruisers to the Detroit Yacht Club. He later drew plans for the great 75m² Skerry cruiser ''Bacchant (II)'' that furthered his reputation as a designer of fast cruisers and racers. Edwin W. Reimers (October 26, 1912 – August 16, 2009) was an American actor active during the 1950s and 1960s, who also served as the stentorian-voiced announcer for such early Warner Brothers television series as ''Cheyenne'' and '' Maverick'': "From the entertainment capital of the world, produced for television by Warner Brothers." Then he would recite the title and cast: "Maverick! Starring Jack Kelly and Roger Moore!" Early years Reimers was born in Moline, Illinois. Egill Reimers
Egill Reimers (July 18, 1878 – November 11, 1946) was a Norwegian architect. He also competed in the 1920 Summer Olympics. Reimers was born in Bergen, Norway, to Bastiam Reimers (b. 1838) and Maren Johnsdatter (b. 1843). (Birth and marriage records spell his name Egil.) He married Signe de Lange on March 24, 1906 in Bergen. He graduated as an architect at Technische Hochschule at Munich in 1902. He started his own practice in Bergen during 1904. Reimers was one of the most active architects in the Bergen during the first half of the 20th century. He was awarded the Houen Foundation Award in 1924 for his design of the State Archives in Bergen (''Statsarkivet i Bergen''). Kyle Reimers (born 10 January 1989) is a former Australian rules footballer, who played with Essendon in the AFL. Debuting in 2007, Reimers was pick number 47 in the 2006 AFL Draft, having played with Peel Thunder in the WAFL. He played for Western Australia in the 2005 U-16 Championships and the 2006 U-18 Championships. Wearing the guernsey number 37, Reimers was an exciting developing player from 2008 onwards, winning the club rising star award for that year on the back of a NAB AFL Rising Star Nomination in round 16 against Richmond. Ulrich Reimers (born 23 March 1952 in Hildesheim) is an electrical engineer and is regarded as a pioneer of digital television. The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) elected him for its Hall of Fame of most important personalities. Nicolaus Reimers Baer (2 February 1551 – 16 October 1600), also ''Reimarus Ursus'', ''Nicolaus Reimers Bär'' or ''Nicolaus Reymers Baer'', was an astronomer and imperial mathematician to Emperor Rudolf II. Due to his family's background, he was also known as ''Bär'', Latinized to ''Ursus'' ("bear"). Reimers was born in Hennstedt and received hardly any education in his youth, herding pigs until the age of 18. Yet, Heinrich Rantzau discovered his talents and employed him from 1574 to 1584 as geometer. Accordingly, Reimers in 1580 published a Latin Grammar and in 1583 his ''Geodaesia Ranzoviana''. Rantzau also arranged a meeting with Tycho Brahe. Bruce Reimers (born September 28, 1960) is a former American football guard who played ten seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals and Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the National Football League (NFL). High school career From 1975 to 1979 Reimers played at Humboldt High School in Humboldt, Iowa.
