Rehli Fort
Rehli Fort was constructed by Ahirs of Sagar in 16th-17th century. The Rehli Fort is located on Rehli Main Road in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, India. History The Ahirs were Ruling the Sagar Since 14th Century. Garhpahrā was the Capital Of Ahir Rajas Of Sagar, 7 miles north of the present city, is supposed to have been founded by a Gond dynasty. The Gonds were succeeded by a Clan of Ahīrs called the Faulādia, to whom is attributed the foundation of the fort at Rehli. Ahir
Ahir or Aheer (derived from the Sanskrit word: abhira) is a community of traditionally non-elite pastoralists in India, most of whom now use the Yadav surname, as they consider the two terms synonymous. The Ahirs are variously described as a caste, a clan, a race, and/or a tribe. The traditional occupations of Ahirs are cattle-herding and agriculture. Since late 19th century to early 20th century, Ahirs have adopted ''Yadav'' word for their community and have claimed descent from the mythological king Yadu. This is a part of a movement of social and political resurgence (sanskritisation) under the influence of Arya Samaj. Garhpehra
Garhpehra is a village in Sagar District in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. There is a fort called Garhpehra Fort. Garhpahra is also called Purana Sagar which was the capital of Dangi state. It is situated about 10 km from Sagar. History Gorakhshah Singh Dangi sacrificed 7 horses and established Garhpahra fort, which had 360 ''mouzas''. Nihal Singh, Legal Dev, and Uday Shah were its rulers. The inscription of 1747 is present of Maharajkumar Singh Dangi. Fort and Temple Even today the remains of the fort are present here, a palace by the name of Sheesh Mahal is also situated here, beautiful carved walls, doors and rooms can be seen in it.
