Regi Claire
Regi Claire (born Muenchwilen, Thurgau Canton, Switzerland), is a novelist, short story writer and poet living and working in Scotland. Her native language is Swiss-German, but she writes in English, her fourth language. Life Regi Claire studied English and German at the University of Zurich and University of Aberdeen, the latter on an exchange scholarship, then became a PhD student/research assistant at University of Zurich. She is the author of four published books: two novels and two collections of short stories. Her first collection, ''Inside ~ Outside'', published in 1998 by Scottish Cultural Press, and the second, ''Fighting It'', published by Two Ravens Press in 2009, were both shortlisted for Saltire Scottish Book of the Year awards. ''Fighting It'' was also longlisted for the Edge Hill Prize. Queen Margaret University
Queen Margaret University is a university, founded in 1875 and located in Edinburgh, Scotland. It is named after the Scottish Queen Saint Margaret. History The university was founded in 1875, as ''The Edinburgh School of Cookery and Domestic Economy'', by Christian Guthrie Wright and Louisa Stevenson, both members of the Edinburgh Ladies' Educational Association. The School was founded as a women-only institution, with twin aims of improving women's access to higher education and improving the diets of working class families. Ron Butlin
Ron Butlin (born 1949 in Edinburgh) is a Scottish poet and novelist who was Edinburgh Makar (Poet Laureate) from 2008 to 2014. Education Butlin was educated at the University of Edinburgh. He later became writer in residence in 1982 and 1984 at the university. Bibliography He has written several novels, collections of short stories, poems and plays. His work has been widely anthologised in Britain and abroad, and translated into over a dozen languages. His debut novel, ''The Sound Of My Voice'', was republished in 2002 with an introduction by Irvine Welsh who called it “one of the greatest pieces of fiction to come out of Britain in the Eighties”.
