George Regas
George Thomas Regas (Greek language, Greek: Γεώργιος Θωμάς Ρεγάκος; November 9, 1890 – December 13, 1940) was a Greek American actor. Biography Regis was born near Sparti (municipality), Sparta, Greece, the brother of actor Pedro Regas. He was a stage actor in Athens before coming to the United States. In New York City he played Romeo in a Grecian version of ''Romeo and Juliet''.''Character People'', First Edition, Citadel Press, 1977; In 1921, Regas acted in his first motion picture, ''The Love Light'' with Mary Pickford. This film was produced by Pickford's production company. He would go on to create character roles in over one hundred films. He was married to actress Reine Davies, the sister of Marion Davies. Petros "Pedro" Regas (born Panagiotis Thomas Regakos; April 18, 1897 – August 10, 1974 in Hollywood, Los Angeles), a veteran stage actor, Regas was spotted on the Broadway stage by Mary Pickford who persuaded him to go to Hollywood and be in pictures, which he did in 1920 and continued to play in films for 50 years. Regas died of a heart attack and was interred in the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Dimitrios Regas
Dimítrios Régas (; born 12 September 1986), in Lesbos (Mytilini) island, is a Greek sprint athlete. He won the bronze medal (46.79 sec) in the 400 metres at 2005 European Athletics Junior Championships. At the age of 20, Regas finished eighth (46.23 sec) in the 400 metres final at the 2006 European Athletics Championships in Gothenburg, having set a PB of 45.60 sec at the semifinals. The same year he was third at the 2006 IAAF World Cup held at Athens Olympic Stadium with his personal best of 45.11 seconds, which still holds as a Greek national record. Rosa Regàs (11 November 1933 – 17 July 2024) was a Spanish writer and novelist. She was a recipient of the Premio Planeta de Novela and the Premio Nadal. Biography Rosa Regàs was born in Barcelona in 1933. During the Spanish Civil War she was exiled to France, until it ended when she was 6 years old. She was educated at a religious boarding school in Barcelona. She subsequently obtained a Degree in Philosophy at the University of Barcelona, where she met Spanish poets such as José Agustín Goytisolo, Jaime Gil de Biedma and Gabriel Ferraté. Her literary training was consolidated between 1964 and 1970 during her work at the legendary publishing house Seix Barral (now part of Grupo Planeta), with Carlos Barral. In 1970 she founded the publishing company La Gaya Ciencia and began publishing works by authors who were little known at the time, such as Juan Benet, Álvaro Pombo, María Zambrano, Manuel Vázquez Montalbán and Javier Marías, amongst many others.
