Regan Buckley
Regan James Buckley, also called Regan Daly, (born 5 March 1997) is an Irish professional boxer. As an amateur he won a bronze medal at the 2019 European Games. Early life Buckley is a native of County Wicklow. Career Buckley boxes at St Teresa's Boxing Club in Bray. He fought twice as a pro, defeating Gary Reeve and Carl McDonald in 2018. However, he returned to amateur status to aim at the 2020 Olympics. 2019 European Games
The 2nd European Games 2019 ( be, II Еўрапейскія гульні, ''Jeŭrapiejskija huĺni 2019''; russian: II Европейские игры, ''Yevropeyskiye igry 2019''), informally known as Minsk 2019, was held in Minsk, Belarus, from 21 June to 30 June 2019. The games featured 200 events in 15 sports (23 disciplines). Around 4,000 athletes from 50 countries participated. Ten of the sports offered qualification opportunities for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. The boxing tournaments at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo took place from 24 July to 8 August 2021 at the Ryōgoku Kokugikan. Thirteen events were staged, the same number as in London in 2012 and Rio de Janeiro in 2016. However, for the first time since the London Games, the programme has been updated, with the number of men's events reduced by two and the number of women's events increased by the same number. On 22 May 2019, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced that the International Boxing Association (AIBA) had been stripped of the right to organise the tournament, due to "issues in the areas of finance, governance, ethics and refereeing and judging". Professional Boxing
Professional boxing, or prizefighting, is regulated, sanctioned boxing. Professional boxing bouts are fought for a purse that is divided between the boxers as determined by contract. Most professional bouts are supervised by a regulatory authority to guarantee the fighters' safety. Most high-profile bouts obtain the endorsement of a sanctioning body, which awards championship belts, establishes rules, and assigns its own judges and referees. In contrast with amateur boxing, professional bouts are typically much longer and can last up to twelve rounds, though less significant fights can be as short as four rounds.
