Reg Tricker
Reginald William Tricker (5 October 1904 – 1990) was an English footballer who played as an Inside forward. He made 188 appearances scoring 82 goals in the Football League for Luton Town, Charlton Athletic, Arsenal and Clapton Orient. Playing career Though born in Karachi, then part of British India, now in Pakistan, Tricker's family moved back to England in 1908 when he was four and he grew up in Suffolk. He started his career at non-league club Beccles Town who played in the Norfolk & Suffolk League. In 1924 he moved to London to study to become a schoolteacher and joined Luton Town as an amateur player. He made his debut for "The Hatters" in a Third Division South match on Christmas Day in 1924 and made a further three league appearances before leaving Luton at the season's end. Cup-tied
In association football, a player who has appeared for a football club during a knockout cup but subsequently transfers to another club is ineligible to play for the new club in the remainder of that season's cup competition. Such a player is said to be cup-tied, i.e. tied to their original club for the duration of the cup tournament. They become eligible for their new club in the following season. The rule is intended to prevent teams which progress in the competition buying talented players from teams which have already been eliminated, in an attempt to increase their chances of winning. It also discourages players whose chief priority is winning a trophy from requesting a transfer once their team has been eliminated from the competition. The 1927 FA Cup final was an association football match between Cardiff City and Arsenal on 23 April 1927 at the Empire Stadium (the original Wembley Stadium). The Football League First Division was the top division of the Football League in England from 1888 until the end of the 1991–92 season, when its teams broke away to form the Premier League.
