Reg Lye
Reginald Thomas Lye (14 October 1912 – 23 March 1988), was an Australian actor who worked extensively in Australia and England. He was one of the busiest Australian actors of the 1950s, appearing in the majority of locally shot features at the time, as well as on stage and radio. Lee Robinson called him "one of the best character actors in Australia." He moved to England in the early 1960s, (also starring in television, such as '' Mrs Thursday'' and ''The Wednesday Play''), but returned to Australia when the film industry revived in the 1970s. He won the Australian Film Institute award for the his role in the 1975 film, '' Sunday Too Far Away'', opposite Jack Thompson. Lee Robinson (director)
Lee Robinson (22 February 1923 – 22 September 2003) was an Australian producer, director and screenwriter who was Australia's most prolific filmmaker of the 1950s. Biography Robinson was born in Petersham, New South Wales and left school aged 12. He worked at the ''Daily Telegraph'' has a copy boy, and wrote short stories prior to the war. He first entered film as a member of the Australian Army History Unit where he filmed Australian troops in Rabaul and East Timor. After the war he was going to work for the ABC as a scriptwriter when he received an offer to join the Australian Information Service film unit (later Film Australia) where he directed a film on Albert Namatjira called '' Namatjira the Painter'' (1946). Peter Yeldham
Peter Alan Yeldham (25 April 1927 – 20 September 2022) was an Australian screenwriter for motion pictures and television, playwright and novelist. Biography Peter Yeldham was born in Gladstone, near Smithtown, New South Wales, in 1927. Leaving Knox Grammar School at 16, Yeldham briefly became a jackaroo in Queensland. Then he returned to Sydney to join Radio 2GB, first as a messenger boy and then became junior scriptwriter. He wrote several scripts and a weekly column for the magazine ''The Listener In'' before being called up for the army at 18, going to Japan with the Occupation Force, where he served with the radio unit. ''Reunion Day'' is a 1962 British TV movie based on a script by Australian writer Peter Yeldham. Many of the cast were Australians living in London at the time. It was done by the BBC. However the play was banned from being shown in Australia.
