Reg Grundy Productions
Reg Grundy Organisation (founded as Reg Grundy Enterprises, later known as both Reg Grundy Productions and Grundy Television and known informally as Grundy's) was an Australian-based multinational mass media company, primarily involved in television as a production company but also in distribution and licensing. Reg Grundy, the company's namesake founded the media enterprise locally in 1959, It branched out internationally in the late 1980s under the banner Grundy World Wide Limited with divisions in Europe, United Kingdom, the United States and Asia The company first produced game shows, then branched into soap operas in 1973. In 1995 Reg Grundy sold the company to Pearson Television, now known as Fremantle, part of the RTL Group (in turn majority owned by Bertelsmann). ''Bruce Forsyth's Hot Streak'' is an American television game show that aired on ABC from January 6 to April 4, 1986. British television personality Bruce Forsyth hosted the series, the only time he hosted a series outside of his native United Kingdom. Gene Wood and Marc Summers (who would begin hosting a new game show called '' Double Dare'' later that year) took turns as announcers every week. The show originated as a 1983 pilot called ''Party Line'', hosted by Gene Rayburn. The show was picked up with a few minor changes, mainly Forsyth replacing Rayburn as host and the show title changed. ''Going for Gold'' was a British television game show that originally aired on BBC1 between 12 October 1987 and 9 July 1996. It was revived for Channel 5 from 13 October 2008 to 20 March 2009. Background 1987–96 ''Going for Gold'' was originally broadcast on BBC1 from 12 October 1987 to 9 July 1996, usually, after the lunchtime broadcast of Australian soap opera ''Neighbours''. Jim Perry (television Personality)
Jim Perry (November 9, 1933 – November 20, 2015) was an American-Canadian television game show host, singer, announcer, and performer in the 1970s and 1980s. Perry enjoyed success on both Canadian and American television. He was the host of the American game shows ''Card Sharks'' and '' $ale of the Century'', as well as the Canadian game shows ''Definition'' and '' Headline Hunters''. Perry was also the host of the Miss Canada pageant in the 1970s and 1980s. Early career Perry was born James Edward Dooley in Camden, New Jersey. ''Concentration'' is an American television game show based on the Concentration (game), children's memory game of the same name. It was created by Jack Barry (game show host), Jack Barry and Dan Enright. Contestants matched prizes hidden behind spaces on a game board, which would then reveal portions of a rebus puzzle underneath for the contestants to solve. Arthur W. Ferguson (April 18, 1944 – February 19, 2016), known professionally as Charlie Tuna, was a radio personality and television host based in Los Angeles, California. Career Radio At age 16, Tuna began working at his hometown's radio station, KGFW. Then, he went to work at KLEO in Wichita, Kansas, for a year with the air name "Billy O'Day". He then worked for KOMA Radio in Oklahoma City in 1966, where he took over the "Charlie Tuna" pseudonym from Chuck Riley, who had used it for one show the week before Tuna's arrival. Gene Wood
Eugene Edward Wood (October 20, 1925 – May 21, 2004) was an American television personality, known primarily for his work as an announcer on various game shows. From the 1950s to the 1990s, he announced many game shows, primarily Mark Goodson– Bill Todman productions such as '' Family Feud'', '' Classic Concentration'', ''Card Sharks'', ''Password'', and ''Beat the Clock''. Wood also served a brief stint as a host on this last show, and on another show, '' Anything You Can Do''. Donald Gordon Morrow (January 29, 1927 – October 27, 2020) was an American announcer, television presenter, and voiceover artist.Stephen Heyman ''The New York Times'', April 10, 2009. Jay Stewart
Jay Stewart Fix (September 6, 1918 – September 17, 1989), known professionally as Jay Stewart, was an American television and radio announcer known primarily for his work on game shows. He was probably best known as the announcer on the long running game show ''Let's Make a Deal'', in which he appeared throughout the 1960s and 1970s. Other shows for which he announced regularly include the Reg Grundy productions ''Scrabble'' and ''Sale of the Century'', as well as the Jack Barry–Dan Enright productions '' The Joker's Wild'', '' Tic-Tac-Dough'' and '' Bullseye''.
