Reeves Sound Laboratory
Hazard Earle Reeves, Jr. (July 6, 1906 – December 23, 1986) was an American pioneer in sound and sound electronics, and introduced magnetic stereophonic sound to motion pictures. He was also the president of over 60 companies, including Cinerama, Cinerama Inc. Early life and education Reeves was born in Baltimore, Maryland, the son of Susan (Perreyclear) and Hazard Earle Reeves. He graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology, Georgia School of Technology in 1928 with a degree in engineering. Early career and war Reeves moved to New York, where his first job was for the Columbia Records, Columbia Phonograph Company. After being appointed as a special consultant to the Harvard University Film Foundation, his interests shifted from phonograph recordings to motion picture audio. Alan Landsburg Productions (ALP), later known as Reeves Entertainment Group and Reeves Entertainment, was an independent television production company founded by Alan Landsburg in 1971. The company produced '' In Search of...'' and ''That's Incredible!''. The company also found success in television movies (the Emmy-winning Mickey Rooney film ''Bill''), and scripted shows (the sitcoms ''Gimme a Break!'' and ''Kate and Allie''). They made a few theatrical movies as well, most notably ''Jaws 3-D'' (1983). The company was acquired in 1978 by Reeves Communications Corp. Reeves Teletape Studios were a group of television studios located in Manhattan in New York City. Owned by Reeves Communications Corporation, it was formed in 1974 by the merger of Reeves Sound Services (a sound and video post-production company and successor to the former Reeves Soundcraft - founded by Hazard E. Reeves), and Tele-tape Productions (a video remote truck and studio facility firm based in NY). Unitel Video bought the studio and its assets in late 1986, and operated them until at least 1993. Tuxedo Park, New York
Tuxedo Park is a village in Orange County, New York, United States. Its population was 645 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Kiryas Joel–Poughkeepsie–Newburgh metropolitan area as well as the larger New York metropolitan area. Its name is derived from an indigenous Lenape word ptukwsiit (Munsee dialect) or tùkwsit (Unami dialect), meaning "round foot" or Wolf Clan. While there exists an alternate theory regarding the Munsee word ', which is said to mean 'crooked water' or 'crooked river', the Unami name for this location survives to this day: tùkwsitu, "place of the Wolf-Clan People".
