Redrow
Redrow plc was one of the largest British housebuilders with a network of 12 operational divisions across the UK. It was based in Flintshire, Wales and employed 2,300 people. In October 2024, its merger with Barratt Developments was finalised and it became Barratt Redrow. The company was established in 1974 by Steve Morgan with an initial focus on civil engineering; it was not until 1982 that the business made its entry into the housebuilding sector. Redrow expanded rapidly during the mid 1980s, both geographically and in terms of business activity; by the end of the decade, it was selling in excess of 1,000 houses per year. The firm completed multiple acquisitions in the late 1980s and early 1990s, including buying Costain Homes from the Costain Group, increasing its housing ales to 2,000 per year. Barratt Developments
Barratt Redrow plc is one of the largest residential property development companies in the United Kingdom operating across England, Wales and Scotland. It is a constituent of the FTSE 100 Index. It was originally based in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, but is presently located at David Wilson's former offices in Coalville, England. Barratt was originally founded in 1958 by Lewis Greensitt and Sir Lawrie Barratt as ''Greensitt Bros.'' to build houses. During 1968, the company, which had by then been renamed ''Greensitt & Barratt'', was floated on the London Stock Exchange. Steve Morgan (businessman)
Stephen Peter Morgan (born 25 November 1952) is an English businessman, investor, and philanthropist. He is the founder and former chairman of the housebuilders Redrow plc, a former chairman of Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C., and founder of the charitable Steve Morgan Foundation. Early life Morgan was born in Garston, Liverpool, on 25 November 1952. The son of a plant hire operator, he came from a poor background with what he, in November 2021, called a “tough upbringing”, telling The High Performance Podcast that it was only at the age of seven that he knew what an inside toilet was. He moved home nine times during his childhood and consequently changed school nine times. Ewloe (; , ) is a village and electoral ward in the community (Wales), community of Hawarden in Flintshire, Wales. It is situated close to the Flintshire/Cheshire sector of the Wales-England border. Christian Salvesen was a Scottish whaling, transport and logistics company with a long and varied history, employing 13,000 staff and operating in seven countries in western Europe.
