Redland-Victoria Point Football Club (nicknamed The Sharks) is a Brisbane based sports club. The Australian rules football team competes in the Queensland Australian Football League (QAFL) since 2021. They have previously been a part of both the Australian rules football in South East Queensland, AFL Queensland State League and the North East Australian Football League (NEAFL). Apart from football, Redland-Victoria Point Sharks also has cricket, netball, softball, and fishing sections. History Beginning Primarily named "Victoria Point Australian Football Club", it was founded in 1966 by Mr Ern Dowling. In 1970 the club changed its name to the "Victoria Point Redlands Australian Football Club". The Queensland Australian Football League (QAFL or "Q-A-F-L") is an Australian rules football competition organised by the AFL Queensland, contested by clubs from South East Queensland. Josh Thomas (born 1 October 1991) is a retired Australian rules footballer who played for the Collingwood Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Thomas, a Queensland Under 18 representative in the 2009 AFL National Under 18 Championships, was drafted by Collingwood with the 75th selection in the 2009 AFL Draft. In 2009, Thomas played 11 games for Gold Coast in the TAC Cup. Thomas was offered a contract by Gold Coast, but chose to enter the 2009 AFL draft, stating that he wanted to join an AFL environment as soon as possible, rather than wait for Gold Coast to join the AFL in 2011. Sam Michael (born 5 July 1993) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Brisbane Lions and Essendon Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL).
