Alfred Redl
Alfred Redl (14 March 1864 – 25 May 1913) was an Austrian military officer who rose to head the ''Evidenzbureau'', the counterintelligence wing of the General Staff of the Austro-Hungarian Army. Redl was one of the leading figures of pre-World War I espionage; his term in office was marked by radical innovations and the use of advanced technology to ensnare foreign spies. Due to the innovations he introduced, Redl's successor, Major Maximilian Ronge, ultimately learned in 1913 that Redl was also a highly paid spy, working for the intelligence service of the Imperial Russian Army. Upon being exposed as a Russian spy, Redl committed suicide. Although Redl's homosexuality was publicized during the affair, later investigation of Russian archives revealed that his Russian handlers had no knowledge of it, and his sexuality was unrelated to his decision to spy. Barbara Redl (born 2 April 1968 in Weiz, Austria) is an Austrian actress. Biography Redl grew up in Steyr, where she trained as a kindergarten teacher. She studied from 1993 to 1996 acting at the Franz Schubert Konservatorium in Vienna. Her first engagement was at the Fränkisches Theater Schloss Maßbach from 1996 to 1998. Later she played at more than 20 theaters in Austria and Germany (including Vienna and Hamburg) as well as at the Tournee Theater Greve. She has a daughter called Madeleine. Christian Redl (born 20 April 1948) is a German actor and singer. Life Christian Redl is the son of a teacher. He grew up in Kassel, trained from 1967 to 1970 at the Schauspielschule Bochum and was then engaged in theatres in Wuppertal, Frankfurt, Bremen, and Hamburg, where he worked with Claus Peymann, Luc Bondy, and Peter Zadek. Doug Redl (born September 3, 1956) is a former Canadian football offensive lineman who played four seasons in the Canadian Football League (CFL) with the Toronto Argonauts and Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He was drafted by the Saskatchewan Roughriders as a territorial exemption in the 1978 CFL Draft. He played CIS football at the University of Saskatchewan and attended Evan Hardy Collegiate in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He is the older brother of fellow CFL player Scott Redl. College career Redl played for the Saskatchewan Huskies from 1974 to 1977. He named to the Canada West conference all-star team at offensive guard in 1976 and 1977. Erwin Redl (born 1963) in Gföhl, Lower Austria is an Austrian-born artist currently living in the United States. As artistic medium, he uses LEDs. His work includes installations, videos, graphics, computerart, and electronic music. Life and work Redl studied electronic music and composition at the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna. Then he moved to New York City, where he studied Computer Art at the School of Visual Arts; he graduated in 1995. Michael (sometimes spelled Mihai) Redl (23 April 1936, in Lugoj – 20 August 2013, in Schongau, Germany) was a Romanian-born German handball player and coach. He played as a goalkeeper, and won two world championships. With Dinamo București he won nine national handball championships and one field handball championship. and the European Champions Cup in 1965. .
