Redes Natural Park
The Redes Natural Park (Spanish language, Spanish: Parque Natural de Redes) is located in the Principality of Asturias in northern Spain. Its total area is , split between two municipalities: Caso, Asturias, Caso () and Sobrescobio (). It was declared a natural park (Spain), natural park in 1996. Conservation In September 2001, the park was included by Unesco in the global network of Biosphere reserves. Redes is one a group of biosphere reserves in the Cantabrian Mountains, which includes Picos de Europa National Park and Somiedo Natural Park. Since 2007 there has been discussion of creating a single super-reserve called ''Gran Cantabrica'' to protect the mountain eco-system. This integration is expected to benefit animals such as the Cantabrian brown bear which have been adversely affected by habitat fragmentation. Redes (film)
''Redes'' is a Mexican film, released in 1936, about the fishing community of Alvarado on the Gulf Coast of Mexico, near the city of Veracruz. The film's title comes from the Spanish word ''redes'' ("nets") in reference to fishing nets. The English-language edition's title is ''The Wave'' (apparently referring to imagery at the end of the film). ''Redes'' was made with a mainly non-professional cast and has been seen as anticipating Italian neorealism. It concerns the struggle of poor fishermen to overcome exploitation. The film was directed by Fred Zinnemann and Emilio Gómez Muriel who were both also among the co-writers. Production Paul Strand began work on the project, which was originally conceived as a documentary, in 1933. He had come to Mexico at the invitation of the Mexican composer Carlos Chávez, who had a government job promoting the arts under the socialist education minister Narciso Bassols. ''Redes'' is a film score by Silvestre Revueltas for the 1936 eponymous film directed by Fred Zinnemann and Emilio Gómez Muriel. ''Redes'' means "nets" in Spanish. It was the composer's first film score, begun in 1934, when he visited the film crew on location in Alvarado, Veracruz. The film concerns the efforts of exploited fishermen to unite.
