Red Youth (Netherlands)
Red Youth ( nl, Rode Jeugd) was a communist organization in the Netherlands. It originated in the group around the periodical ''Rode Jeugd'', which had been started by the pro- China '' Rode Vlag''-grouping in 1966. In October 1967 the group around ''Rode Jeugd'' broke away, and formed their own organisation, Red Youth. The group was most active in the city of Eindhoven. They also used the names ''Revolutionair Volksverzet Nederland'' (Revolutionary People's Resistance Netherlands, RVN) and ''Philips Griekenland Aktiegroep'' (Philips Greece Action Group) as public cover names for "illegal" actions. Molotov Cocktail
A Molotov cocktail (among several other names – ''see other names'') is a hand thrown incendiary weapon constructed from a frangible container filled with flammable substances equipped with a fuse (typically a glass bottle filled with flammable liquids sealed with a cloth wick). In use, the fuse attached to the container is lit and the weapon is thrown, shattering on impact. This ignites the flammable substances contained in the bottle and spreads flames as the fuel burns. Due to their relative ease of production, Molotov cocktails are typically improvised weapons. Their improvised usage spans from criminals, rioters, football hooligans, urban guerrillas, terrorists, irregular soldiers, freedom fighters, and even regular soldiers, in the latter case often due to a shortage of equivalent military-issued weapons. Military Dictatorship Of Chile (1973–1990)
An authoritarian military dictatorship ruled Chile for seventeen years, between 11 September 1973 and 11 March 1990. The dictatorship was established after the democratically-elected socialist government of Salvador Allende was overthrown in a coup d'état backed by the United States on 11 September 1973. During this time, the country was ruled by a military junta headed by General Augusto Pinochet. The military used the breakdown of democracy and the economic crisis that took place during Allende's presidency to justify its seizure of power. Herman Witte
Herman Bernard Jan Witte (18 August 1909 – 30 May 1973) was a Dutch politician of the defunct Catholic People's Party (KVP) now merged into the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA) party and civil engineer. Witte applied at the Delft Institute of Technology in June 1927 majoring in civil engineering and obtaining a Bachelor of Engineering degree before graduating with a Master of Engineering degree in July 1933. Witte worked as a civil servant for the Ministry of Water Management as a civil engineer at Rijkswaterstaat from July 1933 until August 1939 and as a civil servant for municipality of Bergen op Zoom as director of Public Works from August 1939 until June 1940. Witte also served in the military reserve force of the Royal Netherlands Army and was mobilized on in April 1940 before Nazi Germany invaded the Netherlands. ''Eindhovens Dagblad'' is a daily Dutch newspaper based in the city of Eindhoven. In 2017 it had a circulation of about 80,000. History ''Eindhovensch Dagblad'' first appeared on 23 December 1911. In 1963 it was bought by the owner of its competitor ''Oost-Brabant''. The two papers merged and continued under the Eindhovensch Dagblad name. A year later the ''Nieuwe Eindhovense Krant'' also merged into this newspaper which had a minor change in its name due to a change in Dutch spelling: ''Eindhovens Dagblad''. In 1967 it was bought by Verenigde Nederlandse Uitgeversbedrijven (VNU), which also acquired the ''Helmonds Dagblad''.
