Red River High School
Red River High School (RRHS) is a public high school located in Grand Forks, North Dakota, United States. The school was originally built in 1967 for grades 10-12, and was remodeled in 1995 to accommodate grades 9- 12. It serves approximately 1,137 students and is one of two high schools in the Grand Forks Public Schools system. The athletic teams are known as the Roughriders. The Red River in the school's name refers to the Red River of the North which flows on the east side of the city. The name Roughriders is a reference to former President Theodore Roosevelt, who spent a portion of his life in what would become western North Dakota. Red River High School is home to the Summer Performing Arts Company, a summer educational theatre program for grades K-12. Grand Forks is a city in and the county seat of Grand Forks County, North Dakota, United States. Grand Forks Central High School (GFC) is a public senior high school in the Grand Forks Public Schools district. It is located in downtown Grand Forks, North Dakota. History GFC was originally built in 1882 at a cost of $26,000. Its first graduating class graduated in 1886, and consisted of three women, including Emma Oldham and Mary Parsons. The original building underwent major renovation in 1911, and construction was completed on the current main building in 1917. The original structure was demolished in 1937 to build the auditorium, as part of The New Deal's Public Works Administration program. ''America's Next Top Model (cycle 5)'' was the fifth season of the popular reality TV competition ''America's Next Top Model''. This cycle introduced Twiggy and J. Alexander as new judges. The prizes included a contract with Ford Models, a cover and spread in ''Elle Girl'' magazine, and a $100,000 USD contract with CoverGirl cosmetics. Nicole Linkletter Nathanson (born February 27, 1985) is an American fashion model and the winner of Cycle 5 of ''America's Next Top Model''. Virgil Eugene Hill (born January 18, 1964) is an American former professional boxer who competed from 1984 to 2007, and in 2015. Unicorn Riot is a decentralized, nonprofit, left-wing media collective that originated online in 2015. The group is known for reporting on far-right organizations and sources of racial and economic injustice in the US. The non-hierarchical media organization operates in the US cities of Boston, Denver, Minneapolis/St. Paul, and Philadelphia as well as in South Africa. Arshad Hasan was the executive director of ProgressNow. He was previously executive director for Democracy for America. Education Arshad grew up in Grand Forks, North Dakota, and attended Red River High School. Jonathan Godfread (born 1981/1982) is an American politician from the state of North Dakota. A member of the Republican Party, he is the North Dakota Insurance Commissioner, and has served in the role since 2016. Early life and career Godfread is from Grand Forks, North Dakota. He attended Red River High School, and played for the school's basketball team. He graduated in 2000. He committed to attend the University of Utah to play college basketball for the Utah Utes men's basketball team.
