Recondo is a fictional character from the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero toyline, comic books and animated series. He is the G.I. Joe Team's original Jungle warfare, jungle trooper, and debuted in 1984. Profile His real name is Daniel M. LeClaire, and his rank is that of corporal E-4. Recondo was born in Wheaton, Wisconsin. Recondo's primary military specialty is infantry and his secondary military specialty is intelligence. He was a Cadre member at the Jungle Warfare Training Center. He is also a qualified helicopter pilot. Recondo hates cold weather, and loves being in the jungle. He is a qualified expert with the M16 rifle, M-16, Carl Gustav M/45, Swedish K, M3 submachine gun, grease gun, M1911 pistol, M-1911A1 Auto Pistol and M79 grenade launcher, M-79 grenade launcher. ''G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero'' (also known as Action Force in Finland, Sweden and the UK) is a military-themed line of action figures and toys in Hasbro's G.I. Joe franchise. The toyline lasted from 1982 to 1994, producing well over 500 figures and 250 vehicles and playsets. The line reappeared in 1997 and has continued in one form or another to the present day. It was supported by two animated series as well as a major comic series published by Marvel Comics. The toyline continues to play a large part in Hasbro's G.I. Joe franchise. Origin "A Real American Hero" was created as a revival of the original G.I. Joe brand of the 1960s and 1970s. After the 12" figure had been absent from toy shelves for a few years, G.I.
