Terry Berlier
Terry Berlier (born 1972, in Cincinnati, Ohio) is an artist and sculptor whose work addresses themes of the environment and queer practice. Her work incorporates kinetic and sound based media to address these themes. Life Berlier holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from Miami University in Ohio and a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) from the University of California, Davis in 2003. She has taught in the Stanford University Department of Art and Art History since 2007, and currently serves as an Associate Professor and the Director of the Sculpture Lab. She was a volunteer for the United States Peace Corps in Jamaica from 1992 to 1995, which became inspiration for some of her works. Jo Hanson
Jo Hanson (1918–2007) was an American environmental artist and activist. She lived in San Francisco, California. She was known for using urban trash to create works of art. Biography Jo Hanson was born on August 1, 1918, in Carbondale, Illinois. She moved to California in 1955, first living in Marin County, before settling in San Francisco in the early 1970s where she purchased and restored Nightingale House, located on Buchanan Street to landmark status. Hanson obtained a Master of Education from the University of Illinois and a Master of Fine Arts from San Francisco State University. Hanson died at her home, of cancer, on March 13, 2007, in which she was remembered by SFGate as a "green activist" who used street trash in her work. Recycling
Recycling is the process of converting waste materials into new materials and objects. This concept often includes the recovery of energy from waste materials. The recyclability of a material depends on its ability to reacquire the properties it had in its original state. It is an alternative to "conventional" waste disposal that can save material and help lower greenhouse gas emissions. Sirron Norris is an American illustrator, muralist, and arts educator. He is known for his work on the Fox Broadcasting Company, FOX animated television show ''Bob's Burgers'' and for numerous cartoon-style public murals, including ones at Balmy Alley, Clarion Alley, and Mission Dolores Park, and galleries around San Francisco. There is no national law in the United States that mandates recycling. State and local governments often introduce their own recycling requirements. In 2014, the recycling/composting rate for municipal solid waste in the U.S. was 34.6%.
