Gilbert Emery Bensley Pottle (June 11, 1875 – October 28, 1945), known professionally as Gilbert Emery, was an American actor who appeared in over 80 movies from 1921 to his death in 1945. He was also a playwright, author of seven Broadway plays from 1921 to 1933. Early years Gilbert Emery Bensley Pottle was born June 11, 1875, in Naples, New York, to William L. and Hariette (Gilbert) Pottle. He prepared for college at Naples High School and at the Normal School in Oneonta, New York. He graduated from Amherst College in the class of 1899. Career Pottle started out as a short story writer, using the name Emery Pottle, and he later wrote plays. From 1899 to 1900 he was an instructor in English and public speaking at Beloit Academy in Wisconsin. Jock Hutton
John Douglas Hutton (29 October 1898 – 2 January 1970) was a Scottish footballer who played as a right back for Aberdeen and Blackburn Rovers, and represented the Scotland national team in ten official internationals between 1923 and 1928. Career Hutton signed for Aberdeen after the First World War in 1919 and made his debut for the ''Dons'' in the same year; originally played at inside forward but switched to full-back. In the 1920s, he was Aberdeen's most-capped player with seven of his ten caps coming while he played for the club. In October 1926, he joined English club Blackburn Rovers for a then-record £6,000 transfer fee. Hutton won an FA Cup winner's medal in 1928, when Blackburn beat Huddersfield Town 3–1 at Wembley. Hutton won ten caps for the Scotland national football team and scored one goal, from a penalty kick in a 2–2 draw against Wales in the 1928 British Home Championship. Kit Guard
Kit Guard (born Christen Klitgaard May 5, 1894 - July 18, 1961) was a Danish-American actor whose career started in the 1920s. Guard left his birthplace of Hals, Denmark, around the turn of the 20th century, one of five brothers to do so. He moved to San Francisco, and in 1913 he became assistant stage manager and actor at the Alcazar Theatre there. He later acted on stage at the Wigwam Theatre in San Francisco. In World War I, he entertained overseas and later served in the Rainbow Division of the U. S. Army. Guard was a prolific performer, appearing in over 400 films. He appeared with Al Cooke as a comic duo in a number of films from 1923 to 1927. His other film appearances range from ''The Racketeer'' in 1929 to '' The Joker Is Wild'' in 1957, with a number of subsequent uncredited appearances. Louise Carter (born Betty-Lee Carter; March 17, 1875 – November 10, 1957) was an American stage and film actress. She appeared in 48 films between 1924 and 1940, mostly in maternal supporting roles.
