Rebound (2023 Film)
''Rebound'' () is a 2023 South Korean sports drama film directed by Jang Hang-jun. Kim Eun-hee with Kwon Seong-hui wrote the screenplay based on the true story of basketball coach Kang Yang-hyeon and the Busan Jungang High School's 2012 run to the national championships final despite having only six players on its roster. The film stars Ahn Jae-hong as coach Kang and Lee Shin-young, Jeong Jin-woon and Jung Gun-joo as the players. It was released theatrically in South Korea on April 5, 2023. Synopsis The once-renowned basketball team of in Busan is in shambles and on the verge of being shut down after years of poor performance. Alumnus Kang Yang-hyeon, who had been on the coaching staff of the U-16 boys' national team, is brought in as the new head coach, but his appointment sparks many players to walk out as they refuse to play under a still-relatively unknown coach. Yongsan High School (Korean: 용산고등학교) is a public high school in Yongsan, Seoul, South Korea for boys in grades 10 to 12 (ages 16 to 19). It is one of the few public schools in Seoul with boarding facilities. History The origins of Yongsan High School date back to the Japanese colonial era but the school only officially recognizes 1946 as the foundation since that school exclusively educated children of Japanese military officials. Oncheon-cheon (also known as the Oncheon Stream or Oncheon River) is a tributary of the in Busan, South Korea. It was previously known as the Seocheon or Dongnaecheon. The source of the river is on Geumjeongsan. It then flows through the built-up area of Busan, passing between Allak-dong (Dongnae District) and ( Yeonje District) along the way.
