is a unused airport located in the town of Rebun, Hokkaidō, Rebun, on Rebun Island in Hokkaido, Japan. History The airport opened in June 1978 and closed on April 9, 2009. Prior to the airport's closure, Air Nippon and later, Air Hokkaido operated a daily flight from Wakkanai Airport, Wakkanai before the route was terminated on April 1, 2003. As of 2023, the airport has no scheduled flights and remains closed. The International Air Transport Association (IATA ) is an airline trade association founded in 1945. Hokkaido Prefecture

is a town located in Sōya Subprefecture, Hokkaido, Japan. The district and town both cover the island of the same name: Rebun Island. Rebun Island is famous for its alpine flowers. History Pre-Dynastical and Prehistorical Period Various prehistoric ruins from the Okhotsk culture have been discovered in the areas of Kafukai and Funadomari. Later down the line it seems that there was also the presence of various Ainu , leading to the various remains of castles from the Ainu period, scattered across the area. Rebun Island
is an island in the Sea of Japan off the northwestern tip of Hokkaidō, Japan. The island sits off the coast of Hokkaidō. Rebun stretches from north to south and from east to west. The island covers approximately . Rebun Island is located northwest of Rishiri Island, and the two islands are separated by the Rebun Channel. Rebun Island is known for its alpine flowers and the 8-Hour Hiking Course which runs from one end of the island to the other, north to south.
