Razija Mujanović
Razija Mujanović (born 15 April 1967) is a Bosnian former women's basketball player. She was voted the best female European basketball player three times (1991, 1994 and 1995) by the Italian sports magazine La Gazzetta dello Sport. She was elected to the FIBA Hall of Fame in 2017. Club career Mujanović started her career with Jedinstvo Aida in Tuzla, and continued to play in Italy, Spain, Brazil, the United States, Croatia and Hungary. During her club career, she was twelve-time national league champion (in 1988, 1990, 1992 through 1998, 2002, 2003, 2005), and one national cup in 1992. She won EuroLeague four times, in 1989, 1992, 1994, and 1995. During her club career, she was voted best female European basketball player in Euroscar European Player of the Year three times, in 1991, 1994, and 1995. Center (basketball)
The center (C), or the centre, also known as the five or the pivot, is one of the five positions in a regulation basketball game. The center is normally the tallest player on the team, and often has a great deal of strength and body mass as well. In the NBA, the center is typically close to tall. They traditionally play close to the basket in the low post. Centers are valued for their ability to protect their own goal from high-percentage close attempts on defense, while scoring and rebounding with high efficiency on offense. In the 1950s and 1960s, George Mikan and Bill Russell were centerpieces of championship dynasties and defined early prototypical centers. ''La Gazzetta dello Sport'' (; "The Sports Gazette") is an Italian daily newspaper dedicated to coverage of various sports. Basketball is a team sport in which two teams, most commonly of five players each, opposing one another on a rectangular court, compete with the primary objective of shooting a basketball (approximately in diameter) through the defender's hoop (a basket in diameter mounted high to a backboard at each end of the court, while preventing the opposing team from shooting through their own hoop. The XII Mediterranean Games, commonly known as the 1993 Mediterranean Games, were the 12th Mediterranean Games. The Mediterranean Games is a multi-sport event organised by the International Committee of Mediterranean Games (CIJM). It is held every four years among athletes from countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea in Africa, Asia and Europe. The first Mediterranean Games were held in 1951 in Alexandria, Egypt, while the most recent games were held in 2022 in Oran, Algeria. The Bosnia and Herzegovina women's national basketball team represents Bosnia and Herzegovina in international women's basketball competitions, and is governed by the Basketball Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Before the independence in 1992, Bosnian players played for Yugoslavia. Bosnia and Herzegovina's best result in international competitions so far is a gold medal at the 1993 Mediterranean Games where they beat Italy in the finals. FIBA World Championship For Women
The FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup, also known as the Basketball World Cup for Women or simply the FIBA Women's World Cup, is an international basketball tournament for women's national teams held quadrennially. It was created by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA). Its inaugural game was in 1953 in Chile, three years after the first men's World Championship. For most of its early history, it was not held in the same year as the men's championship, and was not granted a consistent quadrennial cycle until 1967.
