''Razakar'', also marketed as ''Razakar: The Silent Genocide Of Hyderabad'', is a 2024 Indian Telugu-language epic historical action drama film written and directed by Yata Satyanarayana based on the events leading to Annexation of Hyderabad in the erstwhile Princely state of Hyderabad. The film is produced by Gudur Narayana Reddy, under Samarveer Creation LLP. It was released on 15 March 2024. The film was criticized for its caste dynamics, promotion of right-wing Hindutva narrative and for distorting the historical realities. Synopsis The film depicts the struggle in the erstwhile Hyderabad State after India gained independence on August 15, 1947. While the rest of the country celebrated freedom and liberation, the Hyderabad State remained under the control of the Nizam for another year. Razakars (Hyderabad)
The Razakars were a paramilitary wing of the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM; ), an Islamic political party in the Hyderabad princely state of British India. Formed in 1938 by MIM leader Bahadur Yar Jung, the organisation expanded considerably during the leadership of Qasim Razvi around the time of the partition of India. Its primary objective was to maintain the rule of the Muslim Nizams of Hyderabad and prevent the accession of Hyderabad to India. One of the pretexts for Operation Polo by India which led to its annexation of Hyderabad was the refusal by the Nizam to disband the Razakars. The Razakars were the main resistance to the Indian Army during the operation. After they were defeated, the Nizam surrendered and agreed to disband the Razakars. Narayan Rao Pawar
Narayan Rao Pawar (1925 – 12 December 2010) was an Indian independence movement, Indian independence activist and member of Arya Samaj. He became popular after plotting to kill the last Nizam of Hyderabad, Mir Osman Ali Khan as the Nizam was using his extrajudicial police force, the Rezakars to murder hundreds of Hindus in cold blood. Career Narayan Rao Pawar, along with two others (Jagadish Arya and Gandaiah Arya), threw a bomb at the Last Nizam on 4 December 1947 near King Kothi Palace. The sessions court awarded him the death sentence and a life sentence to Jagadish Arya. However, on 17 September 1948 his death sentence was commuted to life sentence. Finally after serving 21 months in jail, he was released on 10 Aug 1949. He died on 12 December 2010. He was a follower of Raavi Narayan Reddy, the doyen of the Hyderabad Armed Struggle. References

Bhimreddy Narasimha Reddy
Comrade Bheemireddy Narasimha Reddy was a freedom fighter and a leader of the Telangana Rebellion. He is considered as the Telangana Che Guevara, given his rebellion against Rajakars. He belonged to Suryapet district of present day Telangana. B. N. Reddy, as he was known, fought the Razakars during the Nizam’s rule for six years by being underground. He escaped 10 attempts on his life, prominent among them being an attack against him, his wife and infant son by the Razakars near Mahbubabad in Warangal district. Narasimha Reddy broke the army cordon while exchanging fire and escaped. He also carried out struggles against feudal oppression and bonded labour. Kanhaiyalal Maneklal Munshi (; 30 December 1887 – 8 February 1971), popularly known by his pen name Ghanshyam Vyas, was an Indian independence movement activist, politician, writer from Gujarat state.
