Adela Raz (born 1986) is an Afghan politician who served as the last ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to the United States from July 2021 to February 2022. Raz was also the first woman to hold the office of Permanent Representative of Afghanistan to the United Nations. Early life and education Raz's father was killed by the Taliban because he was perceived as too progressive. Raz has a BA with majors in International Relations, Political Science and Economics from Simmons University in Boston, and an MA in Law and Diplomacy from Tufts University. Joseph Raz (; he, יוסף רז; born Zaltsman; 21 March 19392 May 2022) was an Israeli legal, moral and political philosopher. He was an advocate of legal positivism and is known for his conception of perfectionist liberalism. Raz spent most of his career as a professor of philosophy of law at the University of Oxford associated with Balliol College and was latterly a part-time professor of law at Columbia University Law School and a part-time professor at King's College London. Kavi Raz (born 1 January 1953) is an Indian-born British actor, writer, director and producer. Born in Punjab, Raz left India at a young age for the United Kingdom, where he grew up. Moshe "Mossi" Raz ( he, מֹשֶׁה "מוּסִי" רָז, born 19 December 1965) is an Israeli politician. He was a member of the Knesset for Meretz in three spells between 2000 and 2022. Early life Born in Jerusalem to Kurdish-Jewish parents, during his IDF national service Raz volunteered to serve as a paratrooper in the Paratroopers Brigade. He served as a soldier and a squad leader. Nahman Raz (, 9 December 1924 – 5 July 2015) was an Israeli politician who served as a member of the Knesset for the Alignment between 1983 and 1988. Biography Born Nahman Rizhyk in Ein Harod during the Mandate era, Raz was educated at a high school in kibbutz Geva, before attending the Teachers Seminary at Beit Berl and studying history and literature at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. From 1947 until 1948 he was secretary of the Noar HaOved youth movement.
