Raysko Praskalo
Raysko Praskalo (, "Heavenly Sprinkler"), 124.5 m in height, is the highest permanent waterfall in Bulgaria and one of the highest in the Balkan Peninsula.At 141 m, Vrachanska Skaklya is higher, but impermanent and Korab Falls in North Macedonia may be higher depending on its exact height (100 to 138m) and permanence. It is situated under Botev Peak (2,376 m) in the central section of the Balkan Mountains and is part of the Dzhendema Reserve of the Central Balkan National Park. The nearest town is Kalofer, at 11 km to the south. The waterfall takes water from the snow drifts on Botev Peak and forms the river Praskalska which is a tributary to the Byala Reka River. The flow of fall is at its peak during summer. In the foothills of Raysko Praskalo is located the 120-bed Ray mountain refuge which is the starting point for the tourist trails to the waterfall. Balkan Mountains
The Balkan mountain range is located in the eastern part of the Balkan peninsula in Southeast Europe, Southeastern Europe. Vrachanska Skaklya
Vrachanska Skaklya () or SkaklyaThe waterfall shares the name with Zaselska Skaklya. The name comes from a dialectal word meaning "plunging water" or "waterfall". is a plunge waterfall in the Vrachanski Balkan Nature Park of Vratsa Province in northwestern Bulgaria. With a height of 141 or 148 m, it is claimed to be the highest intermittently flowing waterfall in Bulgaria and the Balkans. Korab Falls
Korab Falls (Macedonian: Корапски Водопад, also known as Proifel Falls; Macedonian: Пројфелски Водопад; ) is a waterfall in the upper course of the Dlaboka River on Mount Korab, North Macedonia. It forms in springtime from the melting snow on the east side of Mal Korab peak. The waterfall differs in height and intensity, depending on the season. Botev Peak
Botev Peak ( ) is, at above sea level, the highest peak of the Balkan Mountains in southeastern Europe. It is located close to the geographic centre of Bulgaria, and is part of the Central Balkan National Park. Until 1950, when it was renamed in honour of Bulgarian poet and revolutionary Hristo Botev, the peak was called ''Yumrukchal'' (Юмрукчал, from Ottoman Turkish ''Yumrukçal'', 'a fist-like peak'). Dzhendema
Dzhendema or Djendema ( ) is a nature reserve in the Balkan mountain range in Bulgaria. The Southern Dzhendem, or just Dzhendema, occupies the southern slopes of Mount Botev . It was established as reserve on March 28, 1953. Djendema encompasses 42.2 km2, and is the largest reserve in the mountain and the second largest reserve in Bulgaria. It is centred on a granite extrusion combined with limestone outcroppings to form a labyrinth of steep slopes; deep, narrow gorges, massive rock cliffs, and huge waterfalls. Djendema Reserve shelters beech and fir forests and large meadows with unique sub-alpine grassy species and communities. Central Balkan National Park
The Central Balkan National Park () is a national park in the heart of Bulgaria, nestled in the central and higher portions of the Balkan Mountains. Its altitude varies from near the town of Karlovo to at Botev Peak, the highest summit in the range. It was established on 31 October 1991. The park is the third-largest protected territory in Bulgaria, spanning an area of 716.69 km2 with a total length of 85 km from west to east and an average width of 10 km. Kalofer
Kalofer ( pronounced:) is a town in central Bulgaria, located on the banks of the Tundzha between the Balkan Mountains to the north and the Sredna Gora to the south. Kalofer is part of Plovdiv Province and the Karlovo municipality. It is best known as the birthplace of Bulgarian poet and revolutionary Hristo Botev.
