Raymonde Allain (22 June 1912 – 27 July 2008) was a French model (people), model and actress. She was Miss France in 1928. Her participation in the 1928 International Pageant of Pulchritude, Miss Universe contest drew international media attention, and her controversial loss to American prompted critical dispute over what counted as "real beauty". Raymonde Saint-Germain (born October 7, 1951) is a Canadian public servant and an independent member of the Senate of Canada. At the time of her appointment, Saint Germain was the Quebec ombudsperson. She was nominated for appointment to the Senate on November 2, 2016, by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Saint-Germain assumed her office on November 25, 2016. Since January 1, 2022, Senator Saint-Germain has been elected Facilitator of the Independent Senators Group (ISG) in the Senate of Canada. Aymond (foaled 1927 in Ontario) was a Canadian Thoroughbred racehorse best known for winning the 1930 King's Plate. Bred by Whitby, Ontario's James Heffering, he was out of the mare, Ablaze, and sired by Roselyon, a son of the 1911 Epsom Derby winner and British Horseracing Hall of Fame inductee, Sunstar. Aymond was first purchased by Frank O'Connor who subsequently sold him in a 1929 dispersal for $1,025 to Toronto businessman Ryland New who had won the 1927 King's Plate with Troutlet. Trained by Jack Hutton, Aymond's best result at age two was a third-place finish in the Coronation Futurity Stakes. Raymonde Vital was a woman who lived in the Comté de Foix in the early fourteenth century, she was made notable when Emmanuel Le Roy Ladurie wrote about her in his 1975 book ''Montaillou''. Working as a servant in the home of the Belots, one of the wealthier families of the village of Montaillou, she met Arnaud Vital, a cobbler who was boarding there. She married him and the two set up house together, but the marriage was unhappy as Arnaud ignored her in favour of a series of mistresses. After Arnaud died, Raymonde married Bernard Guilhou. Biography A native of Berry, Raymonde Vincent was born near Luant near Châteauroux in Indre, into a family of farmers. Raymonde Tillon (22 October 1915 – 17 July 2016) was a French politician. She was affiliated with the French Communist Party and was in the French Resistance during the Second World War. Born Raymonde Barbé on 22 October 1915 in Puteaux, she married the communist Charles Nédelec in 1935. An early member of the Resistance, Tillon was arrested in 1941 and sentenced to twenty years hard labor by a court in Toulon. She was imprisoned in Marseille, Toulon and Lyon before being captured by the Germans in June 1944 and deported first to Saarbrücken, and then to the Ravensbrück concentration camp.
