Raymond Burgos
Raymond Burgos (born November 29, 1998) is a Puerto Rican professional baseball pitcher in the San Francisco Giants organization. He made his Major League Baseball (MLB) debut in 2024. Career Cleveland Indians/Guardians Burgos was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the 18th round, with the 542nd overall selection, of the 2016 Major League Baseball draft. He underwent Tommy John surgery following the draft, and missed the entirety of the 2016 and 2017 seasons as a result. Burgos made his professional debut in 2018, splitting the year between the rookie–level Arizona League Indians and Low–A Mahoning Valley Scrappers. In 13 games (9 starts) overall, he logged a 3.41 ERA with 67 strikeouts. Burgos began the 2019 season with the Single–A Lake County Captains, logging a 3.44 ERA in 8 starts before he suffered a season–ending triceps injury in May. Bullpen
In baseball, the bullpen (or simply the pen) is the area where relief pitchers warm up before entering a game. A team's roster of relief pitchers is also metonymically referred to as "the bullpen". These pitchers usually wait in the bullpen if they have not yet played in a game, rather than in the dugout with the rest of the team. The starting pitcher also makes their final pregame warm-up throws in the bullpen. Managers can call coaches in the bullpen on an in-house telephone from the dugout to tell a certain pitcher to begin their warm-up tosses. Relief pitchers are often assisted in their warm-ups by specialized coaches known as bullpen catchers. Each team generally has its own bullpen consisting of two pitching rubbers and plates at regulation distance from each other. Hayden Birdsong (born August 30, 2001) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the San Francisco Giants of Major League Baseball (MLB). He played college baseball for the Eastern Illinois Panthers and made his MLB debut in 2024. Amateur career Birdsong attended Mattoon High School in Mattoon, Illinois, where he played baseball. As a junior in 2019, he helped Mattoon win the Apollo Conference Championship and was named to the All-Apollo Conference First Team. He then played one season at Lake Land College in 2020, where in 15 innings over four games (three starts), he had a 7.20 ERA but struck out 20 batters before the season ended early due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Birdsong transferred to Eastern Illinois University to play for the Panthers. In 2021, he posted a 9.76 ERA in 27 innings. The Guerreros de Oaxaca (English: Oaxaca Warriors) are a professional baseball team in the Mexican League based in Oaxaca City, Oaxaca, Mexico. Their home field is Estadio Eduardo Vasconcelos. History In October 1995, a group of businessmen, led by Alfredo Harp Helú, learned that the Charros de Jalisco were unable to continue participating in the Mexican League.
