Ray Reidy
Raymond Reidy (1937 – 10 June 2015) was an Irish hurler who played as centre-back for the Tipperary senior team. Born in Thurles, County Tipperary, Reidy first played competitive hurling during his schooling at Thurles CBS. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of sixteen when he first linked up with the Tipperary minor team. He joined the senior panel during the 1956 championship. Reidy was a regular member of the team over the next few years and won one All-Ireland medal and one Munster medal as a non-playing substitute. At club level Reidy was a two-time championship medallist with Thurles Sarsfields. Reidy's retirement came following the conclusion of the 1960 championship. In retirement from playing Reidy became involved in team management and coaching, serving as a selector with the Tipperary senior team. Thurles Sarsfields
Thurles Sarsfields is a Tipperary GAA club which is located in County Tipperary, Ireland. Both hurling and Gaelic football are played in the "Mid-Tipperary" divisional competitions. The club is centred in the town of Thurles at Semple Stadium. The club was founded in 1881 and is the most honoured club in the history of the county championship with 36 County Titles. Munster Minor Hurling Championship
The Munster GAA Hurling Minor Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the Electric Ireland Munster GAA Hurling Minor Championship) is an annual inter-county hurling competition organised by the Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It is the highest inter-county hurling competition for male players under the age of 17 in the province of Munster, and has been contested every year since the 1928 championship. The final, usually held on the first Sunday in July, serves as the culmination of a series of games played during May and June, and the results determine which team receives the TWA Cup. The championship was previously played on a straight knockout basis whereby once a team lost they were eliminated from the championship, however, as of 2018 the championship will use a round-robin system. Tony Wall
Anthony "Tony" Wall (born 9 May 1934) is an Irish former hurler and manager who played as a centre-back at senior level for the Tipperary county team. Wall joined the team during the 1953–54 National League and was a regular member of the starting fifteen until his retirement after the 1967 championship. During that time he won five All-Ireland medals, six Munster medals and six National Hurling League medals. Wall captained the team to the All-Ireland title in 1958. At club level Wall was a ten-time county club championship medalist with Thurles Sarsfields. Playing career Colleges Wall first experienced hurling success when he was a student at Thurles CBS. Larry Keane
Laurence Keane (1931 - 16 July 2017) was an Irish hurler. At club level he played with Thurles Sarsfields and was also a member of the Tipperary senior hurling team. Career Keane first played hurling at juvenile and underage levels with Thurles Sarsfields. He subsequently progressed onto the club's senior team, with his career coinciding with an unprecedented era of success for the club. Between 1952 and 1963 Keane won nine Tipperary SHC titles, including one as team captain in 1957. He also won a Tipperary SFC with Thurles Crokes in 1960. Keane first played for Tipperary during a two-year tenure with the minor team. He won an All-Ireland MHC medal in 1949 after a defeat of Kilkenny in the final. Donie Nealon
Donie Nealon (born December 1935) is an Irish former hurler who played as a right corner-forward at senior level for the Tipperary county team. Born in Newtown, County Tipperary, Nealon first played competitive hurling whilst at school in St Flannan's College. He made his first impression on the inter-county scene at the age of twenty he joined the Tipperary junior team. He made his senior debut during the 1958 championship. Nealon went on to play a key role for Tipperary for over a decade, and won five All-Ireland medals, eight Munster medals and six National Hurling League medals. Nealon was an All-Ireland runner-up on three occasions. As a member of the Munster inter-provincial team at various times throughout his career, Nealon won four Railway Cup medals. Liam Devaney
Liam Devaney (1935 – 15 August 2017) was an Irish hurler. His league and championship career with the Tipperary senior team spanned fourteen seasons from 1954 until 1968. Born in Borrisoleigh, County Tipperary, Devaney was born into a strong hurling family. His father, Jim Devaney, was a stalwart of the Borris–Ileigh club and was a member of the Tipperary senior panel that won the All-Ireland title in 1937. Devaney first came to prominence as a hurler at underage levels with the Borris-Ileigh club before making his debut with the club's adult team in 1952. In a 22-year club career he won a county senior championship medal in 1953, as well as four divisional senior championship medals.
