Ray Maluta
Raymond William Maluta (born July 24, 1954) is a Canadian retired professional ice hockey player who played 25 games in the National Hockey League for the Boston Bruins between 1975 and 1976. Maluta was born in Flin Flon, Manitoba. Maluta scored just two goals in his NHL career, but one of them was the first Boston goal of the 1976-77 season. It was scored against Pete LoPresti of the Minnesota North Stars in Boston's 6-2 victory. From 1999 until early 2012, he was the executive general manager of the Sports Centre at MCC in Brighton, New York. He became a consultant to the facility in January 2012 when Rory Fitzpatrick was named general manager. EC Red Bull Salzburg is a professional ice hockey team based in Salzburg, Austria, that currently plays in the ICE Hockey League. The club play their home games at the Eisarena Salzburg. Goal (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, a goal is scored when the puck entirely crosses the goal line between the two goal posts and below the goal crossbar. A goal awards one point to the team attacking the goal scored upon, regardless of which team the player who actually deflected the puck into the goal belongs to (see also own goal). Typically, a player on the team attempting to score shoots the puck with their stick towards the goal net opening, and a player on the opposing team called a goaltender tries to block the shot to prevent a goal from being scored against their team. The 1975–76 AHL season was the 40th season of the American Hockey League. The league begins to give out three James H. American Hockey League
The American Hockey League (AHL) is a professional ice hockey league based in the United States and Canada that serves as the primary developmental league for the National Hockey League (NHL). Since the 2010–11 season, every team in the league has an affiliation agreement with one NHL team. When NHL teams do not have an AHL affiliate, players are assigned to AHL teams affiliated with other NHL teams. Twenty-six AHL teams are located in the United States and the remaining six are in Canada. The league offices are located in Springfield, Massachusetts, and its current president is Scott Howson. In general, a player must be at least 18 years of age to play in the AHL or not currently be beholden to a junior ice hockey team. Rochester Americans
The Rochester Americans (colloquially known as the Amerks) are a professional ice hockey team in the American Hockey League; the team is an owned and operated affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres. The team plays its home games in Rochester, New York, at the Blue Cross Arena at the War Memorial. The Americans are the fourth oldest franchise in the AHL, and have the second longest continuous tenure among AHL teams in their current locations after the Hershey Bears. Rochester was awarded a new franchise in June 1956, when the Pittsburgh Hornets were forced to suspend operations after their arena, the Duquesne Gardens was razed in an urban renewal project. The Western Hockey League (WHL) is a major junior ice hockey league based in Western Canada and the Northwestern United States. The Flin Flon Bombers are a Canadian junior ice hockey team in Flin Flon, a city located on the Manitoba-Saskatchewan provincial border. The 1970–71 WCHL season was the fifth season of the Western Canada Hockey League (WCHL). Ten teams completed a 66-game season, with the Edmonton Oil Kings winning the President's Cup. League business The Medicine Hat Tigers were approved as an expansion team in January 1970, for the upcoming 1970–71 season. The Regina Pats were accepted into the WCHL, which increased league to ten teams by May 1970. League president Ron Butlin stated that the expansion draft was configured so that new teams would be competitive in their first year. Established teams could protect six players before expansion teams could then start drafting from the rest.
