Ray Chan (businessman)
Ray Chan Chin-ching (; born 1984) is a Hong Kong businessman, known for being the CEO and co-founder of entertainment online platform 9GAG. Along with his team of four based in Hong Kong, he started the website as a side project. Personal life Chan’s first job upon graduation from the Faculty of Law at the University of Hong Kong was in the legal department of a bank. Following that, he became an anchor as well as a reporter for Now TV. Soon after, he worked at an information technology company as a project manager. In 2007, he joined aNobii as a product manager. While working for this firm he launched 9GAG as a side project and in 2011 he quit his job to focus on it. 9GAG was Chan's first successful website; before 9GAG, he established a website to share cosmetics and a website for information on electrical appliances, both of which failed. Now TV (also stylised as now TV) is a pay-TV service provider in Hong Kong operated by PCCW Media Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of PCCW. Launched on 26 September 2003, its TV signal is transmitted with IPTV technology through HKT's fixed broadband network. It provides 197 TV channels including 176 channels branded under now TV (32 channels in HD), 21 channels from TVB Network Vision (1 channel in HD), and over 30 video on demand categories. Anobii (stylized, anobii) is a social networking site aimed at readers. Its website was launched in 2006 by Greg Sung. It was acquired by the publisher Mondadori in 2014 from a venture backed by HMV Group, HarperCollins, Penguin , and Random House. The service allows individuals to catalog their books and rate, review and discusses them with other readers. The service is available via the Anobii website and iOS and Android apps. The apps allow individuals to barcode scan books and read both community and expert reviews. Anobii has readers in over 20 countries but is most popular in Italy. Lacrosse is a team sport played with a lacrosse stick and a lacrosse ball.
