Ray Bellew
Ray Bellew (March 26, 1939 – October 10, 2006) was a Canadian actor and performer. Early life and education Bellew was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He had two sisters, Claudette and Majorie. Claudette, his younger sister, died on January 4, 2012. Career In the 1960s he moved to Newfoundland to host a teen radio show, ''Now Sound''. He starred as the title character in the TV series '' Skipper and Company'' in St. John's, Newfoundland, which ran on the CBC's Newfoundland affiliate CBNT from 1974 to 1982. Throughout the 1960s, Bellew was in the Canadian series ''Last of the Mohicans'' with Lon Chaney Jr, as well as ''Razzle Dazzle'', featuring puppet Howard the Turtle. House arrest (also called home confinement, or nowadays electronic monitoring) is a legal measure where a person is required to remain at their residence under supervision, typically as an alternative to imprisonment. ''The Forest Rangers'' is a Canadian television series that ran from 1963 to 1965. It was a co-production between CBC Television and ITC Entertainment and was Canada's first television show produced in colour. Executive producer Maxine Samuels founded the show. The series ran for three seasons, a total of 104 30-minute colour episodes (although Canadian and UK audiences would not get to see them in colour until long after the series ended). Early episodes of the series were broadcast in serialized form as part of a CBC children's series entitled ''Razzle Dazzle'', hosted by Alan Hamel and Michelle Finney. ''Razzle Dazzle'' is a Canadian children's television program produced by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation between October 2, 1961, and July 1, 1966. The series was initially co-hosted by Alan Hamel and Michele Finney, later replaced by Ray Bellew and Trudy Young. There was also a cast of characters who appeared in every episode, most notably the puppet Howard the Turtle (John Keogh), who was considered the star of the show.
