Rawshan Ara Mustafiz
Rawshan Ara Mustafiz is a Bangladeshi singer of Nazrul Sangeet genre. She was awarded Ekushey Padak in 2006 by the Government of Bangladesh. Early life and career Mustafiz learned music from her mother Rashida Khatun Chowdhury and started to perform in children's programs on radio at the age of six. She wrote a book on music titled ''Shurer Bhubon'' for learners. Mustafiz got her breakthrough when her songs ''O Madhobi Thako Mor Ontorey'' and ''Brihoshpoti Amar Ekhon Tunggey'' aired on Bangladesh Television. In the 1970s, she focussed on Nazrul songs as well as classical music on Bangladesh Betar and Bangladesh Television. She trained under Ustad Yusuf Khan Koraishi, Ustad Gul Mohammad Khan and others. Mustafiz is a trustee member of Nazrul Institute. Nazrul Sangeet
Nazrul Sangeet (), also Nazrul Geeti (; ), refers to the songs written and composed by Kazi Nazrul Islam, who is the national poet of Bangladesh. Nazrul Geeti incorporate revolutionary notions as well as more spiritual, philosophical and romantic themes. Nazrul wrote and composed nearly 4,000 songs (including gramophone records), which are widely popular in Bangladesh and India. Some of the most notable Nazrul Sangeet include '' Notuner Gaan'', the national marching song of Bangladesh and '' O Mon Romzaner Oi Rozar Sheshe,'' a Bengali Islamic song on the festival of the Bengali celebration of Chand Raat and Eid-ul-Fitr. Ekushey Padak
Ekushey Padak () is the second highest civilian award in Bangladesh, introduced in memory of martyrs of the Bengali language movement of 1952. The award is given to recognize contributions in a number of fields, including culture, education, and economics. The Ministry of Cultural Affairs administers the award. The award consists of an 18-carat gold medal weighing 3 Tola (unit), tolas, a certificate of honour and a cash award. The medal was designed by the artist Nitun Kundu. The amount of the cash reward was originally ৳ 25,000, but it was increased to ৳ 100,000 in 2015, to ৳ 200,000 in 2017 and to ৳ 400,000 as of November 2019. Nazrul Academy is an academic research institution devoted to the study of the national poet of Bangladesh, Kazi Nazrul Islam, and his works including Nazrul Geeti. The academy is located in Moghbazar, Dhaka, Bangladesh. History Nazrul Academy was established by the poet Talim Hossain on 24 May 1968 in Dhaka in the then East Pakistan. Nazrul Institute
The Jatiya Kabi Nazrul Institute is Bangladesh's national institute, established in February 1985. Its headquarters are located in Kabi Bhaban in Dhanmondi, Dhaka, Bangladesh. It fulfills a number of roles; promoting the literary work of the poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, recognising excellence in literature research by conferring awards, and public engagement. In January, 2025 it's change its name to Jatiya Kabi Nazrul Institute from Kabi Nazrul Institute.
