Rawdat Al Madaris
''Rawdat Al Madaris'' (), also known as ''Rawdat Al Madaris Al Misriyah'', was a bimonthly education magazine which was published in Cairo, Egypt, between 1870 and 1877. It was the first Egyptian and Arab publication which specifically focused on education. History and profile ''Rawdat Al Madaris'' was established by the Ministry of Education led by the reformist Ali Pasha Mubarak in 1870. It was started part of Khedive ismail's reforms. In the first issue its goal was stated as "the consolidation of the educational system and the shaping of the minds of the students and their sensibility." Therefore, it attempted to broaden knowledge which was to be expressed in an easily understood language. The editor of ''Rawdat Al Madaris'' was Rifaa Rafi Al Tahtawi from its start in 1870 to 1873. Rifa'a At-Tahtawi
Rifa'a Rafi' at-Tahtawi (; 1801–1873) was an Egyptians, Egyptian writer, teacher, translator, Egyptology, Egyptologist, and intellectual of the ''Nahda'' (the Arab renaissance). One of the first Egyptian travellers to France in the nineteenth century, Tahtawi published in 1834 a detailed account of his 5-year-long stay in France, ('The Extrication of Gold in Summarizing Paris'), and from then on became one of the first Egyptian scholars to write about Western culture in an attempt to bring about a reconciliation and an understanding between History of Islam, Islamic and Christian civilizations. In 1835 he founded a Madrasat al-Alsun, School of Languages in Cairo, and he was influential in the development of science, law, literature, and Egyptology in 19th-century Egypt.
