Rawda ( ar, الروضة Kuwaiti Arabic, Gulf Arabic pronunciation: ) is an Areas of Kuwait, area located within the Capital Governorate (Kuwait), Capital Governorate of Kuwait and is considered a suburb of Kuwait's capital city, Kuwait City. It comprises five residential blocks. The area is served by the Rawda and Hawally Cooperative Society. It neighbors five other Areas of Kuwait, areas. Going clockwise, they are Adailiya, Nuzha, Hawally, Kuwait, Hawally, and Surra, Kuwait, Surra. The area falls between, and is served by, Kuwait's 3rd Ring Road and 4th Ring Road from east to west. The Ministry of Interior ( ar, وزارة الداخلية الكويتية) is one of the governmental bodies of Kuwait. Co-Op Societies ( ar, جمعية تعاونية ''jamʕīya taʕāwunīya''), often shortened to Co-Op, refer to public organizations that are set up in each area of Kuwait and to provide services to its residents. These services mainly manifest in setting up grocery and convenience stores in each area, but Co-Op societies also often include a variety of different stores, both operated by the Co-Op and rented to private entities. There are around 60 Co-Ops in operation today, making up around 60–70% of retail trade in Kuwait. The residents of each area elect the board of their Co-Op on a yearly basis. Citizens in each area can become contributing members with voting power and receive a percentage of their purchases back annually. Hawally, Kuwait
Hawally ( ar, حولي) is an area in the Hawalli Governorate, located in the State of Kuwait. Hawally is a large settlement and the commercial center for most computer-related goods in Kuwait. Prior to the first Gulf War, it housed many Palestinians, but many left during and after the War. Currently, Hawally is home to many of the Arab populations in Kuwait including Egyptians, Syrians, Iraqis and Lebanese.
