Rawalpindi Ring Road
Rawalpindi Ring Road also known as Rawalpindi–Islamabad Ring Road, is a 38.3 kilometer orbital highway in Pakistan between the cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Work on the highway started in March 2022, it is currently under construction, upon completion the highway will have six lanes. The ring road will start from Channi Sher Alam bridge near Rawat and end near Thalian interchange close to the Lahore-Islamabad Motorway. The project was originally proposed in 1991, under the government of Nawaz Sharif, however due to political turmoil the project never materialized. During Shahbaz Sharif's visit to China in 2010 as Chief Minister of Punjab, the project was discussed between Pakistani and Chinese authorities to secure funding. The N-5 or National Highway 5 (Urdu: ) is a 1819 km national highway in Pakistan, which extends from Karachi in Sindh to Torkham in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Orbital Highway
Al Majd Road (formerly known as the Orbital Highway) is the longest highway in Qatar, running at a length of from south-to-north. It begins in Mesaieed in Al Wakrah Municipality and extends north towards Ras Laffan on the coast in Al Khor Municipality. Constructed by Ashghal (the Public Works Authority), the road features 7 lanes in both directions, which altogether can accommodate roughly 16,000 vehicles an hour. There are 21 main interchanges, linking the highway with other important roads such as G-Ring Road, Salwa Road, Dukhan Highway, and Al Shamal Road.
