Ravensbourne is a rural locality in the Toowoomba Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , Ravensbourne had a population of 307 people. Geography The locality is on the Darling Downs in southern Queensland. The locality is crossed from east to west by the Esk–Hampton Road. Mount Jockey () is in the north of the locality rising to above sea level. In the far north is reservoir created behind the Cressbrook Dam. Most of the area is within the catchment of the dammed Cressbrook Creek, a tributary of the Brisbane River. However a small section in the southeast lies within the Lockyer Creek catchment. In this part lies the Ravensbourne National Park. In the west Perseverance Creek marks the boundary. History The locality takes its name from the parish, which in turn was named after the pastoral run belonging to a Mr ''Raven'' which was near a creek (called a '' bourne'' in many parts of England). Ravensbourne National Park
Ravensbourne National Park is located in the Ravensbourne and Buaraba in South East Queensland, Australia, 33 km west of Esk. This small scenic park sits on the Great Dividing Range within the Lockyer Creek water catchment area and overlooks the Lockyer Valley. Small remnants of the rainforest and wet eucalypt forest that once covered this part of the Great Dividing Range are preserved within the park. The park's red soils in the west and south-west support rainforest that includes eucalypt species, as well as palms, vines, and ferns. Sandy soils in the park's eastern section support open eucalypt forest. The park is situated within the catchment areas of the Brisbane River and Lockyer Creek. Fauna Four rare or threatened species have been recorded in the park. Over 80 bird species have been recorded in the park. Ravensbourne is a suburb of the New Zealand city of Dunedin. It is located on Otago Harbour on the steep southeastern slopes of Signal Hill. It lies on the harbour's northern shore, east-northeast of the city centre. A cycleway lies close to the harbour's edge, close to the rail line. The River Ravensbourne is a tributary of the River Thames in south London, England. It flows north from near Bromley into the tidal River Thames at Deptford, where its tidal reach is known as Deptford Creek. Geography The Ravensbourne is 11 miles (17 km) in length with a total catchment area of 180 km2. It flows through the London Boroughs of Bromley, Lewisham and Greenwich. The Ravensbourne rises at Caesar's Well, Keston, four miles south of Bromley town centre, and flows initially in a northerly direction. For the initial third of its length, the river flows across common land (including Hayes Common and Bromley Common) until it reaches the southern outskirts of Bromley town. There it is joined by the Ravensbourne South Branch and the Ravensbourne East Branch, which substantially increase the flow.
