Rautahat District
Rautahat District (), a part of Madhesh Province, is one of the List of districts of Nepal, seventy-seven districts of Nepal. The district headquarter is Gaur, Nepal, Gaur, including municipalities like Katahariya, Garuda, Nepal, Garuda, Chandrapur Municipality, Chandrapur, Paroha, covers an area of 1,126 km2 and had a population of 545,132 in 2001 and 686,722 in 2011. This district has a total of 2 VDCs and 16 municipalities. Among other districts, Rautahat has the largest percent of Islam in Nepal, Muslims in Nepal, about 22.4% (census 2021). The most densely populated village in Rautahat district, Bairiya (बैरिया), is primarily Muslim, but a majority of people in the district are Hinduism, Hindu. Katahariya
Katahariya () is a municipality in Rautahat District in the Narayani Zone of south-eastern Nepal. Before September 2017, Katahariya was one of the Village Development Committees (VDC) with 8 wards. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census, it had a population of 4,619 people living in 835 individual households. Katahariya is famous for its unique moton dish. A well known moton dish named “Katiya : कटिया” is origin from Katahariya Bazar. It has a well-maintained Farmers' market (vegetable) and Cattle (domestic-animal) market. Katahariya is a fast-growing municipality, with the main occupations of local people being business and farming. Bajjika
Bajjika is an Indo-Aryan language variety spoken in parts of Bihar, India and in Nepal. It is also classified as a dialect of Maithili language and is known as Western Maithili. Territory and speakers Bajjika language is spoken in the north-western part of Bihar, in a region popularly known as Tirhut. It is mainly spoken in the Sheohar, Muzaffarpur and Vaishali districts of Bihar. A 2013 estimate based on 2001 census data suggests that there were 20 million Bajjika speakers in Bihar. Bajjika is also spoken by a major population in Nepal, where it has 1,133,764 speakers according to the country's 2021 census. District Coordination Committee
The District Coordination Committee (, abbreviation: DCC) was formed on March 14, 2017, to replace the existing district development committee. Each of the 77 districts in Nepal have their own district coordination committees in. The Head of a district development committee is elected by the district assembly. The government also appoints a Local Development Officer in each district development committee who heads the DCC in absence of an elected head or deputy head. The DCC acts as an executive to the district Assembly. The DCC coordinates with the Provincial Assembly to establish coordination between the Provincial Assembly and rural municipalities and municipalities and to settle disputes, if any, of political nature.
