Raul Roco 2004 Presidential Campaign
The 2004 presidential campaign of Raul Roco was launched when he filed his certificate of candidacy on December 30, 2003. This is Roco's second attempt to chase the presidency. Pre-election By mid-2003, President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo was poised to run for president in 2004 elections. Raul Roco was offered by Arroyo to be his running mate, but he declined, and insisted her to run as his vice president instead. On selection of running-mate after calling out Arroyo, Roco is considering former Cebu governor Lito Osmeña, Senators Noli de Castro, Loren Legarda and Manny Villar and Metro Manila Development Authority chairman Bayani Fernando as his running mate. 2004 Philippine Presidential Election
The 2004 Philippine presidential and vice presidential elections were held on May 10, 2004. Incumbent president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo was elected to a full six-year term with a margin of over one million votes over her leading opponent, movie actor Fernando Poe Jr. This election was also held at a period in modern Philippine history marked by serious political polarization, resulting in less candidates for the presidency and vice presidency compared to the preceding two elections. Arroyo served as Vice President of the Philippines, vice president under her predecessor, Joseph Estrada, and ascended to the presidency after Estrada resigned after being Second EDSA Revolution, impeached with charges of plunder and corruption in 2000. Renato "Rene" Salud de Villa (born July 20, 1935) is a Filipino former police and military officer and government official. He served as Chief of Philippine Constabulary, Director-General of the Integrated National Police, and Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. He then served as Secretary of National Defense under presidents Corazon Aquino and Fidel V. Ramos. He founded Partido para sa Demokratikong Reporma for his unsuccessful presidential bid in 1998. Lakas–CMD (1991)
Lakas–Christian Muslim Democrats (), abbreviated as Lakas–CMD and popularly known as Lakas, was a political party in the Philippines. Its ideology and that of its successor is heavily influenced by Christian and Islamic democracy. An X mark (also known as an ex mark or a cross mark or simply an X or ex or a cross) is used to indicate the concept of negation (for example "no, this has not been verified", "no, that is not the correct answer" or "no, I do not agree") as well as an indicator (for example, in election Ballot, ballot papers or in maps as an x marks the spot (other), x-marks-the-spot).
