Sir William Henry Rattigan, KC (4 September 1842 – 4 July 1904) was a British judge and Liberal Unionist MP for North East Lanarkshire. Background and education Rattigan was born in Delhi, India, in September 1842, the son of Bartholomew Rattigan, of Athy, Co. Kildare. He was educated at the High School, Agra, and King's College London, and was admitted to bar as a member of Lincoln's Inn in 1873. He later received a doctorate ( LL.D) from the University of Göttingen. Legal and political career Most of his legal career took place in India. Benedict Rattigan (born 1965) is an English writer and philosopher. His theory of dynamic symmetry has been described by the Oxford University scientist Professor Denis Noble CBE as ‘one of the most deep theoretical insights you could have about the nature of the Universe’. Leon Rattigan (born 4 October 1987) is a British freestyle wrestler who is in the Great Britain national squad. He started Freestyle Wrestling at the age of ten in Bristol Olympic Wrestling Club under the late legendary coach Amir Esmaeli. Rattigan has won the British Senior Championships and the English Senior Championships multiple times in his wrestling career. Rattigan competed in the 96 kg class in the 2009 world championship for GBR and also won the gold medal in the British Senior Championships 2009. Cyril Stanley Rattigan (5 August 1884 – 13 November 1916) was an English first-class cricketer, civil servant and British Army officer. The son of the judge and politician Sir William Henry Rattigan, he was born at Camberwell in August 1884. He was educated at Harrow School, where he was a talented runner who competed three times in the 200 and twice in the 100 yards, in addition to being runner-up for the school in rackets two years in succession. From Harrow, he went up to Trinity College, Cambridge. While studying at Cambridge, he played first-class cricket for Cambridge University from 1906 and 1907, making six appearances. Thomas John Rattigan (born 20 July 1937, in Boston) is an American businessman. Early life Rattigan earned a BS at Boston College in 1960 and an MBA at Harvard Business School in 1962. He joined PepsiCo in 1970 where he rose to the position of CEO of PepsiCo International in 1982. In 1985 Commodore, an early producer of home computers, hired Rattigan as COO intending to prepare him to become CEO (competitor Apple Computer had hired Pepsi president John Sculley in 1983). Sir Henry Adolphus Byden Rattigan (11 October 1864 – 11 January 1920) was a barrister and judge in British India. He served as the Chief Justice of the Chief Court of the Punjab, which became the Lahore High Court. Biography He was born in Delhi, British India, the son of Sir William Henry Rattigan and Teresa Higgins. He was educated in England at Harrow School and later Balliol College, Oxford. Thereafter he was called to the Bar at Lincoln's Inn in 1874. In 1889, he returned to India and enrolled as an advocate at the Chief Court of the Punjab. In 1900 he was made Legal Remembrancer to the Punjab government. He served as a Judge of the Chief Court of the Punjab from 1909 and in 1917 was made Chief Justice. Yana Rattigan (born Yana Stadnyk; 20 January 1987 in Lviv, Ukrainian SSR, USSR) is a Ukrainian born wrestler who competes internationally for Great Britain and England. She competed in the 2009 World Wrestling Championships finishing 5th in the 48 kg category and was 7th in the same weight category at the 2010 World Wrestling Championships. William Rattigan (1932 – 14 December 2019) was an Irish Gaelic footballer who played for club sides Dunshaughlin and Drumree and at inter-county level for the Meath county team. Career Rattigan began his football career with the Dunshaughlin club in the early 1950s. He became the first secretary of the Drumree club when it was re-formed in 1957 and was a key member of the team which won the junior championship in 1959. Rattigan was captain when Drumree won the intermediate championship in 1961 and was also involved in the intermediate championship win in 1969. At inter-county level, Rattigan won a Leinster Championship medal in 1954 after lining out at left wing-forward in the final against Offaly.
