Rastislav Trtík
Rastislav Trtík (6 March 1961 – 1 October 2024) was a Czech handball player and coach. As a player, he won the Czechoslovak championship. As a coach he won Czech and Slovak championships and coached the Czech national handball team. Biography Early life Rastislav Trtík was born on 6 March 1961 in Košice. Playing career As a handball player, Trtík developed in the team VSŽ Košice, for which he played in all junior categories as well as the senior team, with which he won the Czechoslovak championship. At the age of 19, he moved to Ostrava, where he studied at the university and played for Baník Ostrava and Baník Karviná. He also represented Czechoslovakia at international competitions. After the Dissolution of Czechoslovakia, he opted for the Czech citizenship. Coaching career Trtík's first coaching job was at Baník Karviná, which he coached from 1994 to 1997. MT Melsungen is a German handball team from Melsungen, Germany, that plays in the Handball-Bundesliga. History From 1992 to 2005, the team played in the 2. HT Tatran Prešov is a handball club from Prešov, Slovakia, that plays in the Niké Handball Extraliga and EHF European League. History The official establishment of the club begins in 1952 under the name Slavia CSSA. In 1954, Tatran successfully qualified for the championship of Czechoslovakia, where they won their first historic bronze medal. In 1967, the national team of Czechoslovakia became world champion in Sweden. HC Empor Rostock is a team handball club from Rostock, Germany. Empor Rostock was one of the most successful team handball clubs of the GDR, winning both the GDR Championship and GDR Pokal on seven occasions and the European Club Championship and EHF Cup Winners' Cup in 1982.
