Saul Raskin (russian: Саул Раскин, he, שאול רסקין; 1878–1966) was a Russian born American artist, writer, lecturer and teacher best known for his depiction of Jewish subjects. Early life and studies Raskin was born in 1878 in Nogaisk in the Russian Empire now known as Prymorsk in Ukraine. He studied lithography in Odessa and then traveled extensively in Germany, France, Italy and Switzerland visiting art schools and working as a lithographer. Morris "Tubby" Raskin (Hebrew: מוריס "טאבי" רסקין; January 8, 1902 – September 9, 1981) was an American basketball player and coach. He played for the Brooklyn Arcadians in the American Basketball League (ABL). He later coached the men's basketball team at Brooklyn College, the Hartford Hurricanes in the ABL, the Israel men's national basketball team for Israel at the 1952 Summer Olympics, and the U.S. basketball team to a gold medal in the 1953 Maccabiah Games. Dovid Raskin (1927–2011) was a rabbi associated with the Chabad-Lubavitch Hasidic movement. He served as chairman of the Lubavitch Youth Organization for over 50 years. Rabbi Arie Zeev Raskin ( he, אריה זאב רסקין; born 1976) is the Chief Rabbi of Cyprus and the first rabbi on the island in many years. Career Raskin's brothers are also serving as rabbis in Jewish communities, with Shlomo Raskin in Frankfurt and Shmuel Raskin in Budapest. Max Raskin (November 8, 1902August 22, 1984) was a Latvian American immigrant, lawyer, and judge. Raskin served as Milwaukee City Attorney from 1932 to 1936 and later served as a Wisconsin Circuit Court Judge in Milwaukee County from 1963 to 1973.
