Rasha Samir
Rasha Samir (Arabic: رشا سمير) is an Egyptian writer, novelist, dentist, and journalist. She has published six-story collections and four novels. Her novel ‘Jawari El Ishq’ will be turned into a television series produced by MBC. Samir is the first Egyptian woman and novelist who runs Ihsan Abdel Quddous’ cultural book salon. She is also a member in Egypt Writers Union. Biography Rasha Samir was born on 1st January in Cairo, Egypt. She holds an M.A. in dental surgery from Cairo University. Her interest in reading during childhood encouraged her to start her literary career at a young age by writing thoughts at the age of 15. However, she was able to publish her first story collection ‘Hwaneet Arafa’ in 1995. She continued writing short stories until 2011 when she published her first novel ‘Banat Fi Hikayat’. Ihsan Abdel Quddous
Ihsan Abdel Quddous ( ', ) (1 January 1919 – 11 January 1990) was an Egyptian writer, novelist, and journalist and editor in Egypt's '' Al Akhbar'' and ''Al-Ahram'' newspapers. He wrote many novels that were adapted into films, and served as editor for many years of the literary journal '' Rose al-Yūsuf''. Early life and education Abdel Quddous was born in Cairo, Egypt, to an Egyptian father from Gharbia Governorate, Mohamed Abd El-Quddous, and Lebanese journalist Rose al Yusuf. His favorite hobby as a child was reading. At the age of eleven, he started writing short stories and classical poems. Egyptian Revolution Of 2011
The 2011 Egyptian revolution, also known as the 25 January Revolution (;), began on 25 January 2011 and spread across Egypt. The date was set by various youth groups to coincide with the annual Egyptian "Police holiday" as a statement against increasing police brutality during the last few years of Hosni Mubarak's presidency. It consisted of demonstrations, marches, occupations of plazas, non-violent civil resistance, acts of civil disobedience and strike action, strikes. Millions of protesters from a range of socio-economic and religious backgrounds demanded the overthrow of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. Hisham Al-Khashin
Hisham al-Khashin (Arabic: هشام الخشن) born on 14 July 1963, is an Egyptian author and novelist. He has published two short story collections and seven novels so far. In 2014, his novel "Graphite" was nominated in the long list for the International Prize for Arabic Fiction. His novel "7 Days of Tahrir" has also been converted into a TV series entitled "Wa Yaati Al nahaar" which was produced by the Cairo voice company.
