Jan Raas
Jan Raas (born 8 November 1952) is a Dutch former professional cyclist whose 115 wins include the 1979 World Road Race Championship in Valkenburg, he also won the Tour of Flanders in 1979 and 1983, Paris–Roubaix in 1982 and Milan–San Remo in 1977. He won ten stages in the Tour de France. In six starts, Raas won the Amstel Gold Race five times. In his entire career he competed in 23 of the highly contested "Monument" Races and he finished on the podium in almost half of them: 1st place four times and 3rd place six times. Ireneusz Jacek Raś (born 30 September 1972 in Proszowice) is a Polish politician. He was elected to the Sejm on 25 September 2005, getting 6,690 votes in 13 Kraków district as a candidate from the Civic Platform list. In the 2019 Polish parliamentary election, he was elected to Sejm as a member of Civic Platform. He was expelled from the party in 2021. In June 2021 he joined Polish Coalition as an Independent. Radomir Stević Ras (26 February 1931 – 22 November 1982) was a Serbian painter, illustrator and designer. He was also founder and owner of a private theatre in the former Yugoslavia that exclusively presented work of domestic authors. Biography Ras was born in the village of Prekopuce (Toplica District). He was the third child of Borivoj and Kruna Stević. Maxime Ras (born 14 July 1988) is a French footballer who plays as a striker for Union Saint-Jean. Career Ras started his career with Chamois Niortais and made his debut for the club in the 0–0 Ligue 2 draw with Troyes on 18 April 2008, coming on as an injury-time substitute for Ronan Biger. Following Niort's relegation to the Championnat National for the 2008–09 season, Ras made a further 13 league appearances, scoring his first goal for the team in the 2–4 defeat away at Arles-Avignon on 10 April 2009. In the summer of 2009, he left Niort to join US Raon-l'Étape. Ras spent two seasons with Raon-l'Étape, scoring 10 goals in 52 league matches for the club. Marthinus Nikolaas Ras (18 January 1843 – 21 February 1900) was a South African farmer, soldier, and gun-maker who is considered the father of South African Artillery. Military service He served in the First Boer War in the Potchefstroom commando under General Piet Cronjé. After witnessing the siege on the British fort at Potchefstroom by the Boers, he realized the need for artillery by the Boer forces to be able to successfully mount an assault the British blockhouses and forts. In the early stages of the conflict, the Boers seriously lacked cannons to enable them to assault the six British army forts in the Transvaal. Johannes Jacobus (Hans) Ras (1 April 1926 – 22 October 2003) was emeritus professor of Javanese language and literature at Leiden University, the Netherlands. In 1961 he was lecturer at the University of Malaya, and in 1969 first representative in Jakarta of the KITLV (the Leiden-based Koninklijk Instituut voor Taal-, Land- en Volkenkunde = Royal Institute of Linguistics and Anthropology).
