Rare Disease Caucus
The Rare Disease Legislative Caucus is a bipartisan congressional caucus open to all members of the United States House and Senate. The caucus is currently co-chaired by Representatives Doris Matsui (D-CA) and Gus Bilirakis (R-FL) and Senators Roger Wicker (R-MS) and Amy Klobuchar (D-MN). The caucus was founded and Chaired by Congressman Fred Upton (R-MI) and Joseph Crowley in 2009. The caucus works to advance legislation and education regarding specialized and uncommon health issues and diseases, and to promote patient advocacy. The caucus works closely with the Rare Disease Legislative Advocates group. Don Beyer
Donald Sternoff Beyer Jr. ( ; born June 20, 1950) is an American businessman, diplomat, and politician serving as the U.S. representative for since 2015. A member of the Democratic Party, his district is located in Northern Virginia and includes Alexandria, Falls Church, Arlington, and parts of eastern Fairfax County. Sean Thomas Casten (born November 23, 1971) is an American businessman and politician serving as the U.S. representative for . The district covers southwestern Chicago, as well as many of Chicago's inner southwestern suburbs, such as Downers Grove, Wheaton, Lisle, Orland Park, and Western Springs. John Rice Carter (born November 6, 1941) is the U.S. representative serving since 2003. He is a Republican. The district includes the northern suburbs of Austin, as well as Fort Cavazos.
