The rapture is a predicted event in certain systems of Christian eschatology. Rapture
The Rapture is an Christian eschatology, eschatological position held by some Christians, particularly those of American evangelicalism, consisting of an end-time event when all dead Christian believers will be resurrected and, joined with Christians who are still alive, together will rise "in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air." This view of eschatology is typically part of dispensational premillennialism, a form of Futurism (Christianity), futurism that considers various prophecies in the Bible as remaining unfulfilled and occurring in the future. The idea of a rapture as it is defined in dispensational premillennialism is not found in historic Christianity and is a relatively recent doctrine originating from the 1830s. The term is used frequently among fundamentalist theologians in the United States. ''Rapture'' is an album by American pop singer Johnny Mathis that was released on September 17, 1962, by Columbia Records and returned him to singing a full line-up of the sort of ballads that he was known for. The album made its first appearance on ''Billboard'' magazine's album chart in the October 27, 1962, issue and reached number 12 during its 37 weeks there. The first compact disc release of the album came on June 9, 2009, when it was issued as disc one of a two-CD set that also included his 1963 offering '' Romantically''. Reception ''Billboard'' captured the feel of the album in their review. "'Velvety' is a good one-word description of this new album by Mathis, who's given lush musical settings by Don Costa's ork." ''Rapture'' is the third studio album by Australian pop band, The Mavis's, which was released in March 2003 by their record label, Festival Mushroom Records. It was produced by Kalju Tonuma, who had also worked on their previous two studio albums. The album's lead single, "Coming Home" (July 2000), peaked at No. 72 on the ARIA Singles Chart. The second single, "Happiness", was released in February 2001, which reached the top 100 on the ARIA Singles Chart and No. 9 on the related ARIA Alternative Singles Chart. ''Rapture'' is the fourth and final studio album by French metalcore band Betraying the Martyrs. It was released on 13 September 2019 through Sumerian Records and was produced by Henrik Udd. It is the band's first release with lead guitarist Steeves Hostin. It is the last album to feature the band's vocalist Aaron Matts before he left the band in April 2021. Rapture is a doom metal/melodic death metal band formed in 1997 in Helsinki, Finland. History In 1999, Rapture signed a contract with Spinefarm Records and released their debut album, ''Futile'', in late 1999. The album was also licensed to Relapse Records for distribution outside of Finland. In early 2002, the band recorded their second effort, titled ''Songs for the Withering''. This album sold better than their debut and gave Rapture recognition beyond the local scene, eventually leading them to sign a contract with Century Media.
